Heidib, I refuse to give in and have my band removed, unless there is a medical issue. I feel if I have the band removed I will gain the little I have lost. I will continue to fight this battle and speak with my doctor on how depressing this is. Some folks are having great success and others are not. Please think about it before giving up. I just ordered some protein shakes, I also checked out https://sherrybellingham.myvi.net/products.html this lady has a story about her weight loss success and she has great info on her new shakes. Please read her story, I just ordered shakes from her on yesterday. This is not the answer for my problems with the band, but I'm willing to try anything to jump start my weight issues. Thanks, I guess I'm puzzled. I was in green zone last summer I was doing wonderful. I was down to 172, and feeling great. This year has been a mess, I'm still not sure what happened. I also hear stress plays a big part in why the band is too tight, yes I have had my stress lately. I'm not sure if stress is an issue with the band. As far as revisions, I'm not sure what that means. I hope this will help ours with this battle.

Thanks Cocoabean, you look fantastic!!!! Do you have any advice on how to get on track! I'm not sure what to do next. I will speak with my doctor this week and see what he says, but it is always good to get help from someone who has been successful with looking wonderful. I'm taking dexilant for acid reflux, now that my band is only 5.8cc I only need the meds if I eat or drink something I should'nt.

I have the acid reflux issue at night, night cough and vomiting. But, once I have an unfill I'm fine. And I start to gain weight again. And the other question about getting test done, no I have not been tested for any problems in the past year, in 2010 I have a barium swallow done and that test came back showing the acid reflux issue. In march I am scheduled for a colonoscopy, he might check my stomach as well. What should we be looking for?

I got banded sept of 2008. I started out at 225 pounds, I had got down to 172 pounds by last summer. I'm now 189 pounds. I have a 10cc band, I had 7cc last summer. Due to acid reflux I have only 5.8cc. Every time I need more in my band I get terrible acid reflux and than once I get a good unfill the reflux goes away and I don't have good restriction, so I gain weight !!!!! I take dexilant for the reflux. I can't seem to get ahead with this issue. Anyone with this problem? Please help!!!! I want to lose an additional 30 pounds. I'm sick of this roll coaster ride!!!

I have had my band since 9-9-08. I have lose 40 pounds, in the last coupe years, I have been getting fills and unfills and no weight loss just GAINING!!!!! How can I win this battle??? Gaining and band is to tight??? You would thing I would be losing weight. Plus I don't eat a lot of food. I also have acid reflux and the night cough. I plan on going back to the doctor today for another unfill to get some relief. Why am I gaining weight? Please help!

Has any one had gastritis since getting the band???? I got my band 11 months ago and I am down about 30 pounds. and I have had gas issues since that time. Well, last night I had the worst, first time very bad stomach pain and it felt like a bad case of gastritis.( I had gastritis years ago, so I know what it feels like). I took some gas-x and about 30 to 40 mins later I felt a little better. I still have this issue today. I got a small fill last week. It is also my birthday and I had a few drinks with the girls for a few days. I know that should not give gas. I am concerned about this pain. Please Help... Thanks Gigi.

Thanks All, for the advice. I will start to exercise this week and Talk with my doctor about the hair loss. I don't think I will go with the sleeve just yet. I only have 40 more pounds to lose. Thanks again, I will not give up:thumbup: I think the exercise is the key. Gigi

I have been banded since Sept 22, 2008. I have only lost 20 pounds, lots of gas all the time. And now my hair is falling out. I am eating right and getting enough protein. I just saw a new fill doctor last week to get my 5th or 6th fill and he has had lots of patients that have not had a lot of success with the lap-band. He is suggesting the sleeve surgery, which I am not interested in getting. I am just so upset over not having any luck plus my hair is falling out. Help!!!!!!!!:tongue_smilie::mad::mad:

I got a fill on March 6th, I was fine, up to and including lunch today. I got home and I had some boiled chicken and it got stuck. and I have vomitted 3 times. The chicken has come up. I had my surgery 9-16-08. This was the first time this has happen. I am worried. Gigi:crying::biggrin::crying: Can anyone else relate to this.....

Hey All, I had my surgery 9-29-08 at the Hurley Center in Flint Michigan.. I am not scheduled until 11-21-08 for my first fill.. 1. this location is about 1hour and 15 minutes away. 2. They are short staffed and the wait to get an appointment are far apart. 3. since I am on regular foods and I am watching what I eat I am still gaining weight. I need a fill now. I am looking for another fill center in michigan.. Please...Thanks:blink:

Hey all, I had my surgery 9-29-08, I am doing good with the healing and the only problem I am having is the gas..I am now on mushies, canned items, I am not really cheating. I get my first fill 11-21-08. Now that I am healed I feel no restriction and I can eat more that the cup of food every one is talking about...Has anyone had this problem before. I feel like this was a waste of my time and my insurance. Will this stop once I get a Fill???? Please help... Gigi:blink:

Sorry, It took me so long to answer. The Gas strips, you can get them at Cvs, Riteaid,Walmart,etc. They are good to use....

Hey All, i got my band about 3 weeks ago, and I noticed that every time I eat(I am on mushies and protein shakes) I have gas(bad). I take the gas stripes and they work, but I was just wondering if anyone else still have gas problems this far out from surgery...Also will gas be an issue long term.??????:grouphug::w00t::pray2:

I will try the water thing, My stomach is always fill of gas...I am thinking of trying to do the pre-op diet again to start losing again. I can't wait for my fills to start...And with the fills I have heard that several are needed sometimes before you get to the "Sweet Spot"..I will try and keep the faith on this one...Good luck to all.

Hey All, I got my band 9-29-08 and since that time I lost 19pounds. Now that the Doctor has me on mushies. I have gained a few pounds. I also feel hungry...I am not scheduled to have my first fill until 11-20-08. Has anyone had this problem??????:Dancing_biggrin:

Hey All, I had my surgery 9-29-08 and I am going ok.. But, when will new banders feel normal again, when can we eat normal(But Healthy)..When can we go to dinner with family and friends and eat and not worry about PBing. When can we eat salads, meats, etc. When can we do girls night out(Drinkings). Right now I don't want to eat in front of family or go out because all I can have is mushies...Can't drink and eat together... All of these rules are getting to me.... Hey All, I received my band on 9-29-08, it will be a week tomorrow. I am still bloated or I still have swallowing. and still some pain and gas. Is this normal ????? How long before I start to feel good again. I also noticed that I have the most swelling in the front of my stomach where the largest incision is.. Anyone else have this swelling in that area(near the navel)... Help:ohmy: Also how long did you all take your meds???????

Hey all, I had my surgery 9-29-08 and doing ok, I just have not had a bowel movement since my surgery, I just took some milk of Mag. Has anyone else had this problem????? Is so what did you do???? Thanks Gigi

Hello, I had my surgery on monday as well, I have gas, stomach pain, bloating and I am also very sore, sometimes I am bent over until i walk for a while. I am not having any problems with getting some of the liquids in but I am not able to drink all that is required. Also I have not had a bowel movement either. I heard all of this gets better in another week or so... Hang in there, just wanted to say I have the same issues... Gigi:drool:

Well, ladies and gents. I got my band yesterday, I was just released from the hosptial a couple of hours ago. and I feel SORE, Weak, no energy and I can only take a couple sips of tea, and protein shakes and make a small amount of a frozen pops. I feel gassy, at times I walk a little bent over. because I am sore. I just don't feel normal. Have I mad a mistake or will this pass????:drool::thumbup: Tomorrow I will have to remove the bandages and I am not looking forward to that.... I am wondering if I made a mistake doing this. Anyone feeling like this. I need some help... Thanks All.

Hey, My day is tomorrow as well, and I can't tell you how nervous I am...I just hope I can get pass the 2weeks liquid diet..Right now I am on a 1week liquid diet. I just want to get it over with and come home and nurse myself back... Good Luck tomorrow, please keep me posted. I live in Michigan. Gigi
