  1. Thank you. I have been using all whey protein from different brands (same protein powders/liquids I’ve used for years). I’m going to try some Pea protein today.
  2. Cold turkey worked for me. My surgeon told me I had to quit 6 weeks prior to surgery. I quit two days later. That was in Jan. I had my surgery May 17. Not a single slip up in between. That’s how important the surgery and quitting was. I just kept telling myself, “If I’m going through surgery to get healthy, why even THINK about killing myself with cigarettes?!”
  3. I’ve been through this twice. Over a decade ago I had LapBand surgery. I was completely transparent. No secrets. I had no clue how many opinions, judgements and lectures I’d receive. I also found a lot of support. But, had I known, I sure would have done it differently! This time, for my revision, it’s was on a need to know basis. And, even though my band caused an injury and my port was painfully flipped, I caught some grief. ??‍♀️
  4. I am 13 days post op. I have had diarrhea for 11 days. I am barely getting fluids in and am hitting the protein benchmark of 90 grams half of the days. The rest of the time I get at least 45g in. My struggle is, the moment I get something in, it comes out! I’ve been tested, by my primary doctor, for everything...negative. I see my surgeon tomorrow for the first time...has not spoken to me on phone...office staff says, “Just drink your liquids and get your proteins in.” Surgeon’s office days I can’t take anything to slow down system. Now for numbers: According to my scale, I was 181lbs when I went in for revision from band to sleeve. Came home with fluid weight of 186.5lbs. Have been down to 172lbs I’ve last few post op days. Woke up this morning and weighed 174.5lbs AFTER using the restroom! How am I gaining weight when I can’t hold water, let alone protein or even begin my supplements!!!
  5. Thanks for this info. I’ve used/loved whey protein forever. Came home from the hospital after surgery and found even the smell of it disgusts me now. Natch, I have about 20 pounds in several different flavors in my pantry! I am choking it down, hating every sip.
  6. It seems that everyone’s doctor gives them different instructions about post op diets and how to separate fluids and meals but rest assured, until you are further along ,(and getting closer to more solid food), mixing water with your rotein liquids is just fine.
  7. I had my revision from Band to sleeve on May 17. Glad to here your surgery went went well, too!
