  1. My surgeon (and from what I can tell most others) recommend one dose of miralax a day until it works. I had the same issue because I thought they meant one dose period. I'm two weeks out and I still take one dose every other day. My surgeon says this is the new normal for awhile. If you take any narcotics (anything other than Tylenol) that will contribute to the constipation. I'm not a doctor, this only reflects my experience. When on doubt call your surgeon's office. Good luck! Constipation is no joke, and the stomach pain from getting really backed up plus the surgery soreness is pretty miserable. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. I had mine start about a week later, and it's one of the worst periods I've ever had. *TMI alert* heavy beyond belief, I'm dizzy, and the stomach/bowel cramps that come along with my period is ridiculous. Supposedly that's normal with all the hormones being released in the burning off fat but it was scary the first day. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. I weigh myself everyday, and everyday I say, "I have to stop being so obsessive" lol. But it's so fun to see the numbers drop! I would say weigh yourself unless and until it discourages you. Also take measurements of your biceps, thighs, waist, hips, etc., those will change too even if you hit a "stall" on the scale. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. Dang! I had a 12 month wait that I just finished at Halloween- hang in there it will be your date before you know it. Once you get a date, check out the app, this post should still be up. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. Is anyone else on Baritastic? I like it so much better than MyFitnessPal. It has options to invite people into Accountability Groups, and if anyone on here would like to link up let me know!

  7. The sensitive nose thing for sure, one week post-op and the seafood department at Kroger nearly knocked me flat. I'm at 2 weeks out now, and I still can't stomach the premier shakes, I have to use the "clear" protein drinks. Crystal light is way too sweet, and I don't even want to think about SF jello or popsicles. I have a lot of "head hunger" cravings, but who knows what those foods would even taste like to me now. My favorite yogurt tasted weird and bitter, but now I LOVE a flavor I used to be ambivalent about. So weird.
  8. Just had surgery 11/13, I have consistently been doing my "30 minutes a day" since Wednesday the 22nd. Before that it was some days, or not the full 30, etc (husband shared his cold with me 2 days after coming home from the hospital, sneezing + surgery= swell). I love biking, and my surgeon said I can bike as soon as I'm up to it. Yesterday, 11/25, we went biking in a paved, flat trail. I made it 32 minutes and was so weak by the time we finished I almost couldn't get off the bike. This is a trail I did pre-op as an easy, mid week after work route. Today even my 40 minute walk was draining. Is this normal? And how long is this fatigue going to last?
