  1. GLoucester - you forgot - the world apparently revolves around me
  2. kcmagu replied to jlray's topic in Rants & Raves
    Glou - Beautifully stated!

HH - Your reaction (over-reaction actually) has just proven my point - thank you! Heaven forbid someone speak out against you. I am fully aware of the entire content of the thread - have chosen not to speak because I believe enough had been said. You actually opened the new subject by stating you had to 'beat things' in to people who don't get it. As was already stated - many of us have witnessed your ways - you did not have to say this for your tactics to be known.

HEAD HUNTER - Beating things in does not make someone get it - it's not your job, it's not effective and it's just plain rude. You have not ascended to a higher plain than the rest of us. If you have something to say - say it. If someone else does not agree - then let it be.
  5. In regards to the food porn - it's sad how much I watch - unfortunately I'm also addicted to print form - I get so many food related magazines and my cookbook addiction is almost as bad as my love for novels. All my friends make fun of me because I rarely use recipes - but I really do - or ones I've seen -stay in my head and sometimes I just modify them as I go. I love seeing what others do with food. Last night I had a friend over for dinner and when he came in he asked if I wanted the box on the steps brought in. When I took it from him - I was like - WTH did I order that was soooo heavy - opened the box and remembered it was a shipment of books (about 8 of the America's Test Kitchen series - they were 50% off)
  6. :smile2::lol::crying:
  7. salad is hard for me - do better w/ a chopped salad minus the lettuce
  8. they're here - just don't know what to do with em - so I cook. I'm ever the friend
  9. Have been so out of my routine - thankfully got back to it today - walked 7 miles this am
  10. OK: B: couple bites scrambled egg, 2 strips bacon and couple bites pancake S: yoplait light yogurt vanilla sl/ frozen w/ tsp of nutella mixed in :crying: L: 1/2 c. creamy bolognese pasta D: 3/4 chicken fajita w/ fixings S: vanilla ice cream (full fat) w/ 1/2 grilled peach and rum caramel sauce made from real butter, b. sugar, cream & rum! :blushing::blushing::blushing::blushing::blushing: s: had more ice cream and sauce later :smile2: At least I got back into my exercise routine again today - got to keep it up
  11. I am so bad. I have this cute single neighbor/friend - we talk all the time. I cook/bake for him or bring him servings/leftovers all the time (as I do for most of my neighbors) He has been wanting me to host a fajita party for the neighbors. I had all the fajita meat marinating for the boys who were going to do the work - but they had to cancel at the last minute. Soooooo - I called him this evening and said - hey want to come over and have some fajitas. Of course he said yes - so we ate, drank beer and watched the finale of the bachelorette. Then I pulled out desert - grilled peaches w/ homemade vanilla ice cream and rum caramel sauce. It was fun - sadly he just left- he has to be in bed by 10 - meets w/ his trainer at 0600. 2 out of 3 meals spent w/ hot men in one day - :smile2:
  12. one of my favorites is a can or 2 of black beans, can of fire roasted tomatoes, about a 1/2 c-1 c. salsa and chicken stock pureed to desired consistency (adding stock little at a time) lots of garlic, cumin, chili powder, cayenne, salt and some lime juice to taste. I top w/ shredded cheddar - some friends that like to make it also add a can of nacho cheese soup and top theirs w/ sour cream and cheese Have also made a version - that wasn't mexican flavored - actually cooked beans from dried with smoked ham or chicken and then served with a dollop of sour cream and a splash of madeira
  13. Hang in there Beth - I agree with the others - make preparations now. Making plans and being prepared to leave now doesn't mean you can't change your mind later - but I think your heart already knows what you need to do. :crying:
  14. Beth - honey I'm so sorry. I know no matter what anyone says - you will be in a dark place for a while - just know that when it's time - there's a lot of us in the light waiting with arms wide open for ya. but don't wait to long to come out on your own - because I am not above going there and ripping you out by your toes - (said while batting eyelashes) - Seriously though - you know I'm up late a lot - if you need to talk pm me anytime! Glou - I am so in agreement about people taking responsibility for their animals - I don't know if I get more mad or sad when I see animals roaming - cause then of course I have to go and try to rescue them. Have to go get ready - going to have breakfast with my young hot friend before he goes to the airport - so sad!
  15. Plain - don't worry - not your wife - reread the post - it said WELL endowed - not unendowed. I can imagine your excitement though.
  16. Luluc - Red might have to come home with me for a little while - I've been missing a big dog! The dog I fostered was only 45lbs. The last big dog I had was a (no joke) 19 year old completely blind golden I found wandering in the middle of an intersection - stopped my car dead in the middle of the street and worked for 20 min to get him into my car - kept him for the weekend until I found his owners - his name was Marley. He was probably 75 lbs. I'd let Red follow me around - I'm sure the cats would LOVE it!
  17. I had a golden named red growing up - he was the best! Sadie is an odd mix - she was the runt of a litter of 7 pups. Mom was a 11 lb rat terrier (pure bred apparently waiting to be bred) but their other dog got to her first - a 49 lb boxer beagle mix. (Tried to tell them they shouldn't have multiple un-fixed dogs - just stupid!) But Sadie is my precious girl - a hilarious mix of all 3 breeds.
  18. Oh my word - I just choked on my dinner thank you very much!!!! I would expect something like that from PLAIN - not you! ELECTRONICS AND ME JUST AREN'T FRIENDS! By the way here is my cutest dog ever Sadie: (25 lbs but thinks she's 100 lbs)
  19. Slim - what region of the country are you in? I should overnight you some of my soups. My mom just sent me a recipe for a white gazpacho using cauliflower - not usually a fan but it sounds good here.
  20. omg - lulu - I need your husband here - my set up is a joke - my father tried to set it up for me using a diagram from the techy guy who sold it all to me. Needless to say I get a message everytime I turn the tv on - saying something about the wrong input being used - please change. (it's been 2 years!) Give me guts hanging out, hearts stopped beating, brains bulging out any day - but put something electronic (non-medical use) in my hands and it breaks or refuses to work properly in T-10 sec. Update - found the remote finally - got put away with clean laundry - another reason not to clean!
  21. I am so frustrated - I can't find the tv remote anywhere - and no its not laziness - the whole stupid system is set up on that remote - i can't even change channels. Uugghhhh! so of course now I have chocolate on the mind (hhmmm i wonder why) - and Im eating out of frustration! must breathe!
  22. I love oregano and you can put it in about anything - but alas not aware of any entrees starring it in itself. - could be a fragrant bouquet in a vase - or you could sell it at the farmers market. My freezer seems to be overflowing as well with containers of sauces and soups
  23. Slim - you're the best! Happy Birthday Heartfire! Have a blast at dinner
  24. You all have me about peeing my pants laughing. My dog is freaking out because she doesn't know what's wrong with me. Oh - I needed that! Yes work area is bad - funny thing is though it's only about 7-8 min drive from home (and my neighborhood is awesome) and another 5-7 min on the other side of me is one of the richest (old money) neighborhoods in the midwest - the Russel Stover Mansion, HR Block mansions and various other gigantic homes (went in one once that had a dining room that sat 124 people!) Guess it's always about balance. And as far as the young hot men - I do seem to be surrounded by them - and yet notice i don't ever post about being involved with anyone - going to have to work on that. One of my good friends said it's because every man wants my cooking - and apparently any married man she knows would leave his wife to eat my food - interesting and yet disturbing at the same time - good thing I don't support adultry!
