I just got my date today...May 31st. I can't help but feel anxious and it is posts like this that let me know I am doing the right thing and everything is going to go ok.

I spoke with Dr. Querry's office today in Marshall, Texas. I am so excited, cause I finally found a doctor that is less than a 2 hour drive for me...I live in extreme rural East Texas, I am a 3+ hours drive from Houston, same for College Station, 2 hours from Shreveport, 2 hours from Beaumont. She charges $225 for the inital office visit, then $130 for fills. She doesn't use flouro unless she has a problem finding the port. Anyone have comments on this? Also, she highly recommended that I did not get the J&J because it is so newly approved that I would have a hard time finding a doctor who was familiar with it...Just thought I would pass this along...

This is an old story, and I bet it made the rounds here last summer when it first came out, but I know that there are a lot of "newbies" here who will find it just as interesting, and thought-provoking as I did...not sure if I agree or not...does anyone know which doctor did this surgery? I have been researching doctors in Mexico...while cost is the factor in choosing Mexico, I also am researching doctors because I am not going to setlle for the cheapest I find, if he does not meet certain criteria. I have just about decided to go with Dr. Arturo Rodriguez in Monterrey. I found him at a website called Lap band surgery - Gastric Banding - Grupo Endro-Bariatrico Mexico . I have heard from his patient facilitator, and she gave me a price of $7900. On this forum, I noticed an ad for Gastric Bypass Weight Loss Surgery, Mexico - The Bariatric Group for $6500. I went to their website, and clicked on their doctors tab, but did not find names for their doctors. Well, I then began reading testimonials and they mention Dr. Arturo Rodriguez by name. So, my quesiton is...is he associated with 2 different groups in Monterrey, or does his group have multiple websites? Has anyone mentioned this ad when settingup their appointment? Did you get a better price than the $7900? Thanks for any advice you can give me! Tonya
