  1. I apologize, I just realized you are getting the gastric bypass. We are getting sleeved. My apologies for the confusion.
  2. So you have dropped two Stone, how many pounds is that. Damn you metric system, you continue to haunt me after all these years (an attempt at humor) I have had surgery before. 3 surgeries to be exact. But I hate being put under. I had to get Electro Convulsive Therapy for my depression and you have to be put under for that. I had 30 sessions and as a result I have PTSD when it comes to being put under.
  3. Yeah, I know what you are saying. I am just so scared of surgery.
  4. Hey, I sent you a private message but it doesn't look like it is working for some reason. I just wanted to ask you a couple things.
  5. Yes, but my doctor said he won't do them both at once unless it isn't a severe case. I am kinda ahead of the game here as I haven't even had the EGD yet. If I have to get two separate surgeries, I think I am gonna bail. If we can fix both at same time, I am still game. If I don't have to get it repaired, even better.
  6. What are you asking? I am not clear what your question is? What sounds odd? Not wanting two surgeries? Because I hate being put under.
  7. I asked the doctor about that and he said it can be done when they do the sleeve but it is risky. Depending on how bad the Hiatal Hernia is. Who knows, I might not even have Hiatal Hernia as I haven't been checked yet. I definitely do not want to be worked on twice.
  8. I think Weight Loss Institute of Arizona has been around for a while. They have billboards all over Phoenix. Surgeon's name is Dr. Orris. You can check out their website and Facebook page.
  9. Awesome. You sound a lot like me. I have been to OA I love convenience store junk food, especially Quik Trip.
  10. Did you get sleeved? Or still doing it the natural way?
  11. Did you have yours yet? I know you said it was coming up. Did you get it?
  12. Thank you my friend. The dietician at my doctor's office gave me some similar guidelines, I had forgotten until I read your post. I feel awful right now. I have been eating garbage for the last 5 days.
  13. Thank you. I know the surgery will be very beneficial. My wife is supposed to get it about 4 months before me, so maybe seeing her journey will help me.
  14. Weight Loss Institute of Arizona Surgery center is in Tempe
  15. Well, I am a male obviously but my wife is planning on getting sleeved in April. I have been trying to get her to create an account on here. I will try to get her to sign up. My insurance requires a six month waiting period, so mine won't be until August [emoji22]
  16. Hello Peeps, I am having second thoughts about getting the Gastric Sleeve. I am wanting to do it myself the "natural" way. I really do not want major surgery, but I HAVE to lose weight. So, here is my question, what is more important to losing weight..... Diet or exercise? What will make the biggest impact? I know I need to do both, but I am wondering what is more effective. Restrictive diet with little exercise? Or lots of exercise without very restrictive diet? What should I be counting? Calories or carbs?
  17. Hello Peeps, So, evidently Hiatal Hernia is pretty common. My wife had her EGD and found out she had Hiatal Hernia. She had it repaired about 2 months ago. Now she is waiting for sleeve in April. Here's the thing, I don't want to have to get an EGD. I also don't want to have Hiatal Hernia repaired if I have it. My sleeve won't be until August, but I am already starting to back out. I don't want to have to do all the steps required. Sounds like a huge pain in the rear. I especially do not want to have surgery twice. Once for hernia and once for sleeve.
  18. I just feel so bad. I suffer from Major Depressive Disorder, and being so overweight doesn't help. I don't really want surgery, but I don't want to be this huge anymore either. I almost had to be admitted 3 weeks ago. My wife was going to make me go to the hospital into the psych ward. I was refusing to go and she was going to have her brother, who is a police officer, come over and make me go. He and I are close, so it would have been from a place of love but I didn't want to go. I finally convinced her to not make me go.
  19. I have totally relapsed. I ordered pizza again yesterday. I ate McDonald's for Breakfast today. I feel bloated and sick. I am uncomfortable in my own skin right now. It makes me sad, depressed and suicidal.
  20. Who are you going through? WLIA? Mine won't be until August.
  21. I agree with you 100 percent.
  22. May I ask what religion? Mormon? I know several Mormons.
