  1. Thanks so much! Good luck to us all [emoji4]
  2. That would be fantastic! Allmine@cox.net
  3. So.....I'm scheduled for May 2nd, and my dr doesn't require a pre-op diet. Which is awesome! But also not awesome. I trust my dr, as he is very well respected and has been doing these surgeries for a very long time (and I know several people who have used him). But, I still feel a bit anxious that I have no required diet. So, I thought I'd do it on my own. Can't hurt and I'm hoping it'll help me get into the right mindset. Can anyone share the kind of pre-op diet they're following? Thanks!!
  4. As nervous/anxious/scared or downright terrified I may get....I'm going through with this. My weight has fluctuated my whole life. Always heavy....but different degrees of heavy. Now, I'm 42, 330 lbs, with 2 knees that are so bad it's hard to walk. That's not a future I'm going to let happen. I'm going to get healthy again and use this surgery as the tool to do it. That is the speech I give myself when the doubt/fear gets strong. I read on one of these posts to create a list of all the reasons (big and small) of why you're having surgery. It's been great for me. It's something tangible to look at and focus on when I'm feeling weak. Maybe it would help you too. 36 days. We can make it through 36 days to change our lives!!
  5. Congrats to you too! Yes. Definitely nervous. And anxious. I've been doing so much to prepare (reading, classes, etc), but it's still 36 days away!!!!! I feel like the wait is just empty time to worry. I've run out of "to do" items and now it's just waiting. I'm hoping the next 36 days fly by. But the nerves definitely get worse the closer I get.
  6. I'm May 2nd too! It's been a long wait....and I finally feel like I'm getting close.
  7. I'm May 2nd too! Nervous and excited. I began this process in September....feels like it's taken soooo long.
  8. I finally got my date! May 2nd. It's further away than I hoped for (I began this journey August 2016), but I'm trying to be patient. I'm going to try to make these 3 months go by with weight loss goals before surgery.....trying to get a head start. So excited for this to happen!!

  10. I told some coworkers...but not others. It's not out of embarrassment, but I really don't want anyone's opinion. This decision I mine, and I don't need any negativity. If there are some people you trust, I'd suggest you share. The support I've gotten means the world to me. Everyone else doesn't really matter. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  12. I had to use HEW too and I couldn't schedule my last appt until 30 days out. Just call the day you finish your second class. I had no problem getting a date in December....and they had limited classes. I don't think you'll have any problems. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. I've been reading posts for months, and as I near the end of my insurance dance....it's getting real. So, I thought I should put myself out there. Not easy for me. I'm hoping for surgery late January, early February. One of my goals is to share as much as possible, so that maybe someone else will find answers to their questions. Just reading posts from others has helped me...I'm hoping to return the favor Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
