  11. Hi Hector Thanks for replying to my post. Sounds like you have everything figured out with the help from your friend and surgeon. U are very fortunate to have a friend who is working at the same hospital where you are going to have your surgery. That's a extra plus . You have to do whats best for you. There's nothing wrong with having the gastric bypass surgery everyone situations different. Believe me I would not hesitate to do it if I needed it to save my life . Best of luck. 14. Dr Pashand has a good reputation. Why did you pick Dr Masrur? Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App
  15. Hi Jennifer, I had a consultation at UIC with Dr Pashand last month and I was planning to get the sleeve but he asked me if I am having acid reflux or heartburn. I do once or twice a week, so he said it's not a good idea to get the sleeve because it will make my acid reflux or heartburn worst. Gastric bypass is better choice. I'm thinking about getting a second opinion. Did you do any research Dr . Masrur? Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App
  16. Hi everyone, I am new to this site. I am just getting started with the process. Anyone had there surgery in Chicago? Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App
  17. Hi everyone, I am new to this site. I'm just starting my process, so far I am scheduled to have a sleep study and 24hr PH test to rule out Gred. My plan is to have the sleeve . My doc said if I have to much acid reflux , it will be better for me if I have a gastric bypass surgery. I don't want to have the gastric bypass surgery. I will wait until my PH test results are in before I make a decision. I feel good !! because I was really struggling with the decision to have a weight loss surgery. Now I'm sick and tried of beginning sick and tried. I weigh 256 pounds at this point I don't have anything to lose . Pray for me !!! I really hope all my test results are good and will be getting sleeved soon. Best of luck to everyone. Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App
  18. The very same thing happened to me. I went to meet with my surgeon for a consultation last month to talk about the sleeve . He asked me a lot of questions and one of the questions he asked me if I am having any acid reflux or heartburn ? I said yes once or twice a week . He said if I'm having Gerd I shouldn't have the sleeve because one of the side effects after having the sleeve is Gerd. The bypass is a better choice for people who have Gerd . So he said before we decided on what surgery is best for me , he wants me to have a 24hr PH test . I am scheduled to be tested in a couple of weeks. I don't want the gastric bypass surgery. So I decided to get a second opinion. Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App
