Hi all!! It is exciting to see that everyone is close to their surgery date. My insurance was sent off today. Now it is just wait and see. I am really excited that things are finally getting closer (and really starting to get nervous)!!!

Hi all, I am hopefully going to be banded at the end of March, depending on how fast insurance approves. I teach 8th grade math, and I am the cheerleading sponsor for the middle school. I have been married for 6 years in June. I have three step children, one 12 year old daughter who lives with us, a 13 year old bipolar step son who just recently moved in with his mother, and a 20 year old step daughter. I have a WONDERFUL dog, Furby. I have been overweight for as long as I can remember. I have tried every diet known I think. A lady I teach with and I went to a seminar, and we decided to do this together. Then, she decided to have gastric bypass. We are still supporting each other every day though. I have really enjoyed this site because it is so informative. Best of luck to you all!!

Hi KayKay, I am from TN too. I have Cigna, but I heard BCBS you have to lose 10%. I'm really not sure what else you have to do. My hubby has BCBS and I that is my secondary insurance. I know I won't be using his because mine pays 100%. Best of Luck!!

I am really glad to find a group of teachers on here. I will hopefully get to be banded the day before Spring Break. Do you think that a week is long enough for me to be out? I absolutely hate having a sub!!!!!!!

Hey Slim, I am glad you asked that question. I have been wondering the exact same thing. I am hopefully having my surgery the first of April. I have been afraid to stop smoking because every time I try all I do is eat. Good luck with your surgery!!!!!
