Question about Fruit
One suggestion would be to check the glycemic list of the fruits you are eating. The higher the number the more sugar. Watermelon and bananas are high, berries are much lower. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

3 week post op on reg food
I would always stay away from fast food. Too many hidden sugars and fats. Time to take control and responsibility for what you are choosing to eat. People here will tell you go back to your basics, drink your Meal Replacement shakes and be sure you are drinking enough Water. Add soft foods slowly that you cook yourself so you know exactly what is in the food. You are going to do great. Remember to move your body doing things you enjoy.???? Blood sugar levels
The nurses told me that the surgery and healing process will cause blood sugar to be higher than normal. It will come down in time. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

Ten days post op and feeling really good. All the laproscopic incisions have healed nicely. No more nausea, no acid reflux, life is good. I have lost 17 pounds since this journey began. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

One thing I have discovered is that whey isolate does not create the creamy texture when you blend it with ice. So the mixes I bought are disappointing. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

I am 4 days post-op and I am feeling pretty good. The first two days after surgery was the hardest. I was still very sore and felt nauseated. I could not throw up so I ended up letting out a bark with each heave. That part was awful. But it really only happened once the morning after I got home from the surgical center. How long did it take from your first consultation until surgery day?
My first consultation was on April 1st and I had my surgery June 28th. So 11 weeks I had a lot of preoperative testing to --psyc eval; endoscopy/colonoscopy; and cardiology stress rest. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

Must have made a break through yesterday. The frantic hunger is over on Day 7 of the 14 day pre-op liquid diet. I seemed to have settled into not eating and just drinking my meals. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

O.k. I must vent a little here. I am in day 3 of the preoperative liquid diet and today is hard. I am hungry. There seems to be reminders of food everywhere. I have turned off the tube. Too many commercials and I was watching "The Chew". Bad idea! What are some tips and tricks to get through this? Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

Being denied due to weight gain...
It is important for you to be empowered to advocate for yourself. I am always amazed at how some folks will try to "scare" you into compliance. Nutritionists that are not familiar with the particulars of bariatric surgery can be very frustrating. The stress hormone cortisol could be working against you. Keep eating right and moving, you will get there. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

Is your surgery a secret?
That is really great. It sounds like you have really thought this through and are ready to take the next steps. I honor your decision to keep things quiet. It is after all your decision to make and carryout. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

Is your surgery a secret?
I just got scheduled for surgery on June 28th! Yeah! Go for pre-op appointment tomorrow. I just told my boss at work about it. BUT, I am a college professor so all my students will want to know what is going on, so I have decided to be up front with people. I am not going to keep it a secret. If they ask I will tell them. If they don't I won't say anything. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

What do you say?
Just consider that folks that say that are really ignorant of the true facts. Let it go. It's like trying to teach a pig to sing. It frustrates you and annoys the pig. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

Start:275 lbs I am having my endoscopy/colonoscopy on 5/19, then initial cardiology appointment on 5/24. Surgery approval not complete yet. Just hoping everything goes smoothly. I only work part-time in the summer which can be a blessing and a curse. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
