    It does sound a bit like a type of gum. Although my geek brain automatically went to a sci-fi idea from Star Trek. (Yeah ... I'm a geek, but what can you do?) I seem to remember that Klingons have 'pain sticks' which, if you are even slightly versed in what a Klingon type personality is seems hilarious.
