  1. Bri, I also cannot find it. The link won't work for me Did they give you any tips for the challenges you're having bri? How long did you have to stay in the hospital?
  2. Cookies! Oh my goodness! Yay!!! So happy to hear. How are you feeling? :-) Also, I see people liking posts. How do you do that? Lol
  3. Hi bri! Nice to meet you! How have you been doing?! Pain at all? I'm excited to see your progress as well! I get sleeved on thursday!
  4. I just want to update everyone on myself, (yet I feel bad doing it because I have only good news. :-() I had all my last pre-surgery appointments yesterday and I am set. My surgeon seems really nice and I don't have to do ANY liquid diet. I just have to stop eating at 8pm on Wednesday. I'm so surprised with where all these rules are so different for people. Like some people have a 2 week liquid diet, some 2 days, and some none. What is the difference for these?? I guess who knows! Do any of you?
  5. Cookies, ugh insurance! I hope you get approval for next thursday. Such a bummer. :-( Amanda, that is horrible news! Is everything situated and okay with your bank account?! That's frustrating and scary. :-( I hope they are able to squeeze you in soon. Did you find anything out yet?
  6. Shel, of course we do! Welcome to the group! If you don't mind sharing, what is your height and weight? I am also excited about my surgery. It'd so close now. And for you the time will fly by and it'll be here before you know it- good luck with the liquid diet!
  7. Sorry ive been MIA! Ive been traveling! Ladee! I hope your surgery went well and you are recovering nicely! I thought about you yesterday when I was at all my appointments!
  8. Ladee I will day at one point I was 265 lbs and I'm 5'6. I lost weight on my own to get down to 203 and I didn't have really any sagginess. Hopefully that is helpful for you in some way!
  9. I agree cookies. I agree. Hi ladee! Welcome to the little group! If you don't mind sharing, what is your height and weight? And how are you feeling about your surgery?
  10. I think that's also why I'm happy about this little group! I don't really like people all in my business like that. And my weight all my life has really been a struggle. I know people know I'm obese, but I don't like to point it out myself. Lol I'm weird like that.
  11. Milly, don't feel guilty! I actually talked to my behavioral therapist about this during my last session of the 6 month surgery program. He said that it depends on each person and there is no obligation. I'm private about things like this. I didn't even tell my siblings. Only my parents, 3 best friends and husband. I told my boss I am having surgery but didn't tell her what of and a coworker I told because she kept on me about it and made me uncomfortable and I still wish I didnt.
  12. Amanda, That sounds interesting. I've never heard of it before. I wonder if I have to do anything like that! I also wonder about saggy skin. I think thats what makes me nervous. Especially in my arms since they are very large. I'm going to try and get myself (once allowed) on a strength and tone routine to hopefully minimize that.
  13. Of course Cookies! I'm sorry I don't ream my know how to address people on here. Lol my real name is Jenna. I thought I would be nervous but I think after my appointments before Surgery I will be. I live 6 hours from my surgery site so I think that helps put it on the back burner of my mind for now.
  14. Amanda, I work in radiology so I have done enough Upper GI exams in school so I know what I'm going to go through at least! Still not looking forward to it though. I will want to see the fluoro screen. Lol. We just don't do them where I work now so it'll be like a blast from the past for me except I'll be the pt. Haha. And Wanda, I'm sorry to hear. Have you contacted your doctor? None of us three have had the surgery yet, but in my consult I was told numerous times anytime you have more pain than a small amount I am supposed to call because it could be serious. I don't know much about it but I assume you would have some pain but the surgeon consult told me that probably 10 times in my appointment. Amanda, also what is the dopamine test? I don't know about that one.
  15. I have anxiety issues and so far this is the first time in my life I am not nervous! I'm excited and finally feel prepared for change. It was hard not to buy any clothes on black friday! But, I will be ordering some leggings on cyber Monday because it's a deal and those are going to be comfortable and fit for awhile! I have last testing on Dec 7th and I'll probably get super nervous after that though. Lol
  16. Also amanda, I hear ya! I made a pumpkin pie and it's just too delicious not to eat Makes me happy. Lol Milly, I will be thinking about you on the 10th! I hope everything goes well. So exciting!
  17. I'm not very good at figuring out this reply stuff. Haha! But I have to do an upper GI to make sure I don't have a hiatal hernia so that the sleeve is a safe procedure for me. Then I have a surgeon appointment and a dietician appointment too
  18. So exciting!!! Do you have to do a pre-op diet? I don't , which is really bad for me because I've been eating everything I want to for the last time and it's taken a toll on me. Lol. How are you feeling about the surgery? I'm excited, but nervous. I have a load of appointments on Monday the 7th and then I'm sure I'll be put on a clear liquid diet
  19. Hey everyone! I'm new for the most part. I'm scheduled for surgery on December 10th and I was hoping to find someone to was getting sleeved right around the same time that would want to talk. For motivation, worries, support, someone who is literally in this process at the same point in time as me. :-)
  20. I'm excited but of course nervous as well. I have a upper GI on the 7th but no 2 week pre-op instructions which kinda freaked me out but then it looks like I'm not the only one! I do however have to lose more weight and have an exercise program in place or my surgery gets pushed off! I would like to kind of take this journey with someone else as well. Anyone wanting to keep in touch with progress, bad days, good days, etc? It would be nice to communicate with someone going through the same thing at the same time as me!
  21. Mine is scheduled for December 10th!
