  1. I wasn't told to take anything. Just to not eat ANY solids. Just liquids for two days before surgery. So I can't eat any protein bars, celery, or cucumbers (my two "freebies") during those 2 days. I'm so nervous that I may not even notice the lack of food. Anxiety is really kicking in. Surgery is October 15th.
  2. @@Jennifer I am from Columbia, South Carolina and my surgery is scheduled for October 15th with Dr. Heider at Center for weight loss at Lake Norman. Dr. Heider is great to work with and his staff is top notch. I am self-pay also and have found them very easy to deal with and very supportive so far. Worst part is the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Otherwise, great so far.
  3. Me too. It's really crazy. I've cheated several times (to say the least) but now I got to stick to it. Only have a few days and want everything to go great. However, I am worried about being able to stick to the post-opt since I had so much trouble with the pre-op.
  4. @@kvoneye are you on a liquid diet for pre-op?
  5. I'm October 15th too kvoneye. Glad you are doing ok @@60&goin4it!!
  6. I came from Columbia, South Carolina to Lake Norman and the Centers for Weight Loss with Dr. Heider. I've met with him and his staff and they are wonderful. I am self-pay so my surgery was scheduled a little over 2 weeks after my first appointment. I am winding down the pre-op liquid protein diet and am anxious for Thursday to come.
  7. I am with Dr. Heider as well. I am getting sleeved this Thursday October 15th. I am really happy to see the good reviews from Dr. Heider.
  8. It's what my surgeon's office gave me to substitute for protein shakes. It's called "Optifast 800" Soup Mix. My protein shakes are called "Optifast 800" Protien Shakes. That is all I can have except I can have a super free Popsicle and a 1/2 cup of sugar free jello. I have 5 more days of this. Surgery on October 15th.
  9. Thanks. Same to you cjd2010. I'm eating my protein "soup" now. Already tired of this stuff.
  10. @@cjd2010 I have no idea. I have the same concerns. I have read about others with the same issue but had successful surgery. However, that does not minimize my concerns. I don't have the answer. But somehow I do feel we are going to be ok.
  11. Thanks and I'm pulling for you and everyone else!
  12. Amber, You are not alone. My surgery is October 15 and have Been on a liquid diet for one week. I haven't lost but 2 pounds but I feel as if I am hungry all the time. Gets worst just before bed. I'm gonna just stick to it and hope everything works out. This pre-op is the WORST, but as I understand it is well worth it in the end. My surgeon did remind me that the purpose of the liquid protein diet is to shrink the liver, thus making surgery easier. Right now I don't know what to think. I'm just ready for the next week to go by!

My surgeon did remind me that the purpose of the liquid protein diet is to shrink the liver, thus making surgery easier. So maybe the weight loss is only secondary. Right now I don't know what to think. I'm just ready for the next week to go by! Btw, I have read many stories about those who "slipped up" on the pre-op liquid diet. I told my surgeon's mental health professional that I too cheated on the diet. Her advice was to stick with it as best I can. Don't let anyone fool you, it's TOTALLY about willpower. Stop cheating. You will do fine my friend.
  14. I'm October 15th and I'm new here.
