  1. I'm not nervous but maybe that will come later. I'm just really excited to have made the decision. Where are you having your op? Have you been given a pre-op diet yet? This is a journey I am really looking forward to!
  2. Myfitnesspal - although it does have a few things I don't like ie you can't set your calories at less at 1,200 per day, which isn't very helpful if you are on the pre-op diet. If anyone can recommend a better one I would be interested
  3. I got my date yesterday and it is 25 August! I am in the UK and usually stick to the UK part of the forum but very happy to be added as a friend, so we can keep in touch.
  4. I'm delighted to say I have a date for my sleeve operation - it's 25 August. I would have liked it to be sooner as this date will be a bit difficult with regard to care for my granddaughter and help and support for me, but I do want to get things under way. From everything I have read on this forum I have no doubts I am making the right decision!
  5. All looks interesting but when I clicked on your website it takes me to a blank page
  6. Me to! I had my initial appointment last week and don't have a date yet but feel I want to do everything I can to make the operation easier and improve my recovery rate. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.
  7. Thought I would write a quick update as I had my first appointment with the surgeon this afternoon. I'm a little disappointed as I neither have a date or a definite price. A hospital from the same group offer the procedure for £2,000 less, but they are a two hour drive away. Of course, I would rather have the operation nearer to home but it is a big difference in price. Has anyone else experienced this? The surgeon also pointed out that one in two hundred operations go wrong, with the stitches breaking down, resulting in a stay of several weeks in hospital. Would be interested to hear if this has happened to anyone on here. Maybe I shouldn't ask, as I'm determined to go ahead with it regardless.
  8. Hi C2CFOREVER I hope every thing is going well - would love to have an update when you are feeling ok. In the meantime get plenty of rest and let everyone spoil you! 9. Can I ask what you are having for your pre-op diet? I know I am getting ahead of myself, as I don't even have a date yet, but I do like to be prepared!
  10. Hi C2CFOREVER I hope everything went well yesterday and you are on your way to a speedy recovery - thinking of you!
  11. Wow able2cope you are doing great! I'm happy if I lose a couple of pounds, but then I put it on again!
  12. I don't consider myself to be a complete idiot when it comes to the internet etc but this forum is really difficult to use. Kate I'll add you as a friend and maybe we can meet 'on the other side'!
  13. Definitely a confusing forum! I've read a lot of posts but a lot of them aren't really relevant as they refer to US insurance plans etc. I think I'll probably end up self funding. Can I ask how long it will be between your first appointment and the date you have for your op?
  14. I've just joined and don't, as yet, have a date for my sleeve but have realised with the NHS it may be some time away. I was just wondering if many people here have, or intend to, pay for their sleeve op. Look forward to replies!
  15. I've just joined the forum and hope to get a date for my sleeve sorted on Friday. I really look forward to following your progress. Wishing you well for today and the coming weeks!
