  1. Mexico is almost as cheap as having insurance. $1800 program fee, $500 hospital fee, and 10+ $40 co-pays.... Not to mention the 6+ months of waiting.... And all the time invested jumping through the hoops!
  2. I'm from Knoxville. Just got approved. Took less than a week for approval. BC/BS of TN. Dr. Boyce
  3. I was approved! Only took 5 work days to get the approval! #relief
  4. My file was submitted to BC/BS this morning. Was advised 15-30 day for a decision. Fingers crossed!
  5. BC/BS of Tennessee changed policy 2 weeks ago. The 6 month supervised diet is now really 7 months. The time from the very first weigh in to the last must be 180 days, so this is technically 6 months and 2 weeks. I completed my 6th visit yesterday and submitted to surgeon and was advised of the changes. This practice is top notch and on top of things! They had no warning from BC/BS of the new requirements. The clinic coordinator stated that she has 7 denials on her desk, but lucky for me I can attend one more visit with my PCP. Others not so lucky!! If I had to start this whole waiting game over, I would be devastated!
  6. 7 month supervised diet required. Policy changed 2 weeks ago.
  7. 7 month supervised diet is a new change.

  9. Live in Knoxville... Had consult with Dr. Boyce.... Started the 6 month waiting game last month....
  10. Went to seminar last week. Consult with surgeon yesterday. My 6 month waiting with monitored diet began May 20. (Which I think is a total waste of time and co-pays)! I'm hoping to have surgery in November. Patience.... Sigh!
  11. My surgeon requires $1800 outside of what insurance pays. Every pt required to pay this amount, before you can schedule surgery, to cover the follow-up care.
  12. RN in Knoxville, TN.... Just started the journey. Met with sx today and am currently on the 6 month wait game... Hope to have sx in October.
