  1. Hi. Please advise if you have seen a forum here for singles. I am 43.. divorced, 2 adult children. Maybe I am not navigating the site properly? I don't see anything like that? On the same note.. please direct if there's a forum for Arizona folks. Thank you.
  2. Hi everyone!! My insurance changed their requirements so I am now only required to do 3 months rather than 6 so I am rushing to complete everything by 3/17. That's the last time I see my surgeon and he will submit to insurance on that day. I've been told, based on that, I will have surgery in April. I REALLY want/need people to go through this with so would love to be part of your little group here.
  3. She is a Master Level (per requirements) and I get to pay her $150 (per visit) out of pocket.. ohhhh the joys LOL
  4. Hi Elode, thank you for responding..What you said does make sense, but my confusion would then be that I was told I would be weighed on the day of surgery. Hmm.. I guess that's one more questions for the surgeon. Thank you for helping. And holy wow! Great stats
  5. Hi. Does anyone know the least I can weigh on surgery day and still go forward? I am nervous because I've been told about the 2week liquid diet prior to surgery, but also been told not to lose too much.. there was a story to follow from the nurse about how someone lost 2 pounds too much and didn't qualify any longer. I am 5'1 tall and have multiple morbidities so I am not going on BMI alone. Any advice is welcomed and appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  6. I did the Psch Eval and after that was required 3sessions with a therapist to discuss moving on after divorce (I divorced my ex- as in ME divorcing him, not him divorcing me over 5 years ago..we had 28 years and most of them married) I have no idea why the Psych lady thought I needed that nor did I care honestly. I figured "ok, I will find a therapist do the 3sessions to get cleared and skip along my merry way".. BUT This woman is insists on going over with me every diet I have ever been on and asking me all the questions the surgeon, Nutritionist and Psych Eval person have already been over with me.. Her conclusion? If you can stop yourself after a few ounces once you have surgery, why can't you now? Why can't you just stop?.. OMG the rage that was building in my belly lol.. honestly, I am so tired of being questioned about all of this.. It was not an easy choice AT ALL. I have really been through it up and down and taken 3 years to finally say YES, LET'S DO THIS!.. I lost 80 lbs going from 240-160 back in 2008 using a trainer and a traditional diet.. I am back at 210 and my auto-immune diseases and morbidities have all but taken over my life. She does not understand why I cannot just do it again. Previously, I also was not thru menopause as I am now. I CANNOT go after exercise like a force to be reckoned with as I did before with fibromyalgia, arthritis, degenerative joint disease and on and on.. Sorry to rant, but I cannot believe this woman and all I can do is sit there and repeat in my head I only have to see her three times so just appease her and get the H outta there. UGH!! People think they know so much.. they have NO IDEA what a hard decision this is. and BTW.. she didn't mention my Ex even once LOL

  8. I admit it, I am also addicted to My 600lb Life. I go through a gambit of emotions from feeling sad for them to being angry. Why oh why put your family and yourself through so much just to eat the way you did prior to the surgery? I personally believe they, maybe anyone getting WLS, needs some therapy to discuss how things got out of control and to address those issues in depth. It also gives the person one more person to be accountable to in a sense and anyone that out of control, needs accountability when trying to make changes.
  9. @@cosmogirl2535 ... I asked my surgeon about this today.. He makes a final decision once he is in there, but generally he said it's a long tube shape that if you balled it up would be about the size of an egg. Hope that helps
  10. I appreciate your support and responses. I am heading out now to my first of 3 psych appointments and have asked my sister to ride with me as the Dr. office is 90m from me. After reading all of this, I've decided to tell her the truth and just be honest with everyone. I need as much support as I can get so I suppose the ones that have attitude or are negative can just fall by the way side.. Thank you!
  11. Hi everyone. I'm new and have oodles of questions, but this one is at the top of my list. Previously, I lost 80 pounds (have now gained 50 back) and I did it the long and hard way with a trainer and a food journal. At the same time, my previous neighbor got Gastric Bypass and all I could think was that if I had let myself go so far that I considered going under the knife, it was time for some major changes to get myself under control. 8 years later, she had a 2nd surgery getting a lapband put in and is very thin and I am back to sleep apnea and obesity. sigh... I just don't know if I want to tell everyone I know what I am doing. The weight loss will be so rapid it will surely be obvious and I'm not the dishonest type, but there is a weird stigma about surgery being the easy way. Anyone I've even discussed this with has the collective mind of, "Yeah, then you don't even have to do anything." We all know that isn't true and this is a major life change and NOT and easy decision. Any advice is appreciated.. anyone?
  12. @@sleeved2015 .. My doctor concurs with what @@lexiemustang said her surgeon said about pre-op dieting being just 2 weeks in advance of surgery date.
  13. @@bvenegas ... I had the opposite experience with my insurance. At my last weigh in I was told in 2015 my insurance now only requires 3months rather than 6 so everything was moved up. Talk about a feeling of a PHYSICAL fast forward lol.. I was excited at first, but after having a week to think about it.. I am nervous and feel ill prepared mentally..
  14. Hi 'MAY SLEEVERS'.. I'm new to this site and "one of you." .. I've not been given my actually date yet, just told it will be in May. It seemed SO far away and now I am nervous as if it's coming up so fast. I have a million questions so signed up for this site tonight hoping to find fellow sleevers so am glad to see you all here! I have a few things left to do. Blood work, EKG, Chest X-ray and 3required visits with a therapist discussing my 28 year relationship ending in divorce. Apparently, that affected me somehow? lol .. With all of the other hoops I've jumped through, I feel like these last few things are small.
