  1. "Be curious, not judgmental" --Walt Whitman Please be kind to each other on this site - aren't all of us trying to stay positive about perhaps the hardest things we have ever done? I know I am. I come to this site for inspiration and answers - not to read others being negative about others' choices. Be respectful please. You don't have to agree with what others do, but no need to hate. This is hard enough.
  2. Congratulations! Remember this feeling if it ever gets tough down the line...
  3. Hello wise sleevers, I am hoping someone can help me understand why I cannot have 0 calorie carbonated or caffeinated drinks. I am on a four week Optifast program with sleeve surgery April 15. If I understand why, I am much more able to comply but for now, diet soda is helping me through this optifast diet. I realize I will have to give up both before surgery and probably won't go back....but for now - really? Also she said no sugar free Jello or sugar free popcicle. Is this because of food dye? Thanks for any wisdom you can share - and if not that, I'll take empathy as this is hard!
  4. Thanks for the suggestions! I am inspired by you all
  5. I am getting my sleeve through Kaiser and they require a 4 week liquid diet (optifast) and I started this morning. I really appreciate all the wisdom experienced sleevers share as I know it will get better in a few days. I am trying to remember that every pound I lose before surgery is one less pound I have to lose afterwards! Thanks for reading - any suggestions on how to best get through 4 weeks is appreicated!
  6. Finally! After 10 months of classes, appointments, tests etc etc and being told I may have to wait another 5 months....I got a waitlist spot! April 15! Woo hoo! I am brand new to the forum, appreciate the wisdome of those who have gone before me Thanks for reading, may your journey be all you want it to be!
