  1. He handled it really well!!! ????
  2. Oh boy lol..I still live with my dad so I have to see him all the time lol
  3. Thank you all soo much for the support! I don't think he will ever get on board with it. Maybe when I have lost my excess weight and kept it off for many years then he will look back and think it was a good decision
  4. Yes! I'm soo excited! My mom supports me but ultimately it has to be me telling him. I understand that he's worried about me but he goes about things not the best way. When I first told him I was thinking about doing this he said he wouldn't be there for me and wouldn't support me. It hurt and made me cry. Idk if he thinks that I gave up on it or what but I'm going to try to tell him tonight if he's in a good mood. ????
  5. I had my last appointment of my 6 month supervised diet last Tuesday on Wednesday they submitted all the paperwork to insurance. I was told it would take about 2 weeks for a response from them. Well its now Monday..less than a week later and I received an email from my surgeons office saying that the surgery authorization got approved and I'm all set for surgery which will be on August 24th! I'm so nervous, anxious, happy, scared..everything combined! Now I have to tell my dad which is going to be a real challenge because he is against this! He's been against it since the beginning and I'm terrified to tell him I'm having my surgery in 3 weeks!!! I think I'm more scared of telling him than I am of the actual surgery lol..thanks for listening!!! ☺
  6. Thank you all for the feedback! @@hockeyfan7 I pray that that happens to me too! I'm so addicted to sweets and that's what scares me most!
  7. Hey everyone! I haven't been on here in a while. I've been doing my 6 month supervised diet and just got a surgery date. August 24th is when I will be sleeved if everything goes well. But now that I have the date I'm freaking out!!! I'm having serious doubts about what the hell am I going to do to myself?! I'm TERRIFIED that I'm going to put myself through this and then not be able to keep the weight off in the future! I have a weak mind when it comes to food and sweets as I'm sure many people do and I'm sooooo scared that it's going to keep me from keeping the weight off! ????????????
  8. At the hospital to get my blood work, ultrasound of my gallbladder, xray of my lungs, and an ekg done! And then I'm done with my testing and just need 4 more months of weigh ins left!
  9. Thank you donna! I hope you feel better before you go in!
  10. I hope it works out for you!
  11. @@KS123 no they won't accept it he said that if I went to my pcp consecutively then that might count so I'm going to try to go to them this weekend and get my records from them to see. Did they accept it for you?
  12. @@moonlitrose25 wow that's awesome! I'm so excited for you! I can't wait until I get there! Let us know how surgery goes! Good luck!
  13. @@IvyLeagueNP ok I will do that thank you!
  14. @@IMS1985 yay! I hope you like your surgeon! You're more ahead of me I haven't done any of that. Only thing I did was go to the seminar. And meeting my surgeon at 3:30 today, that's it. Hopefully I can schedule a bunch of stuff today though!
  15. @@donnag53 thank you! Wow that's soo exciting! Good luck!
  16. @@KS123 wow that's a great idea I didn't think of that! I was part of weight watchers last year too so I'm going to try to see if my insurance accepts that as part of my 6 months. I contacted weight watchers and got my records so I could bring them in with me to my appointment tomorrow. I hope that it can count towards my 6 months that would be awesome! Thanks soo much for the suggestion!! Has your insurance accepted the weight watchers for you?
  17. @@donnag53 that's good. I don't have any comorbidities (yet) so my BMI has to be above 40 (which it is, 43) I have my very first appointment tomorrow so I'll ask him all that good stuff. @@bncbabe2015 I can't wait either! I wrote down all the questions I could think of to ask him! I hope all goes good for you too!
  18. @@IMS1985 I wanted the lap band at first too! But after going to the seminar and hearing what they had to say and also hearing a lady that was there talk about how she had the band and it was awful and didn't work made me change my mind and want the sleeve instead! Not looking forward to the wait but I can't wait to get started! I meet my surgeon tomorrow!! Yay!
  19. Olá amigo @@Rogofulm! My father is very difficult and very set in his ways. When he thinks something you will not get him to change his mind unless he changes it on his own. I haven't spoken to him about it at all anymore since the day I told him. He also hasn't asked or mentioned anything about it to me. My mom says that he mentions it to her and some days he's ok with it and others he isn't. I guess he's trying to wrap his head around it. I completely understand that he's scared I mean it's major surgery! But he flies off the handles without thinking things through. He told me flat out the day that I told him that he will not support me and will not be there for me. That really hurt! But I will NOT let that change my mind! I've been doing research for months on it so I'm very well informed. I know what I'm getting myself into. Lol my dad is going to be the same way! I'm sure he will complain that I'm losing too much or too fast! I'm just scared that if God forbid I mess up or if something goes wrong that he will never let me or my mom live it down. And I'm scared to even complain about being in pain around him when I get the surgery because I feel like he's going to say well you're the one that wanted to do this. Ugh he's so difficult! He doesn't make it easy to have an open honest relationship with him. I wasn't even going to tell him about the surgery until after I got it! But I still live at home so I had to tell him. Anyway, obrigado amigo! Boa sorte para ti também!
  20. Oh boy ok thank you..I'm really nervous about that! What if you gain one month? Will they not cover it anymore?
  21. Which surgery were you thinking of getting the first time? I've never had any kind of surgery either so it's a little nerve-wracking but mostly I'm just very anxious to get it done already! I'm so ready to hopefully start my new life with my new body! I can't wait! I wish I could get it done soon too but I know I have to wait at least 6 months for insurance. I'm going to ask him on Tuesday if there is any way to make it earlier but I doubt it
  22. @@IMS1985 Is this your very first appointment? Good luck! Don't be nervous I'm sure everything will go great! Let me know how it goes!
