  1. I think you will be ok. My dr doesn't put anyone one on a pre op diet until day before. Food addiction is why we are here, why we need a sleeve to restrict what we can't do on our own. Just try to adhere by the post op diet as your belly will need to heal...I think this part will be the time to really follow your drs advice.
  2. Check your insurance , my insurance specifically says no one under 18. But definitely check because every policy is so different. I wish I had this done when I was young, I think about all the health problems I wouldn't have today.
  3. The world according to eggface! We made her cauliflower crust pizza last night that was delicious....and I don't even like cauliflower ...couldn't even tell..yummm
  4. Thanks so much for making me feel so much better. I know this is the best thing for me...and I guess I really am not a failure for doing this. I really don't let others opinions matter...in fact only my hubby knows I'm doing this..haven't told my kids, sisters, friends, etc
  5. I will have my final visit with surgeon next week, then everything will be submitted to insurance for approval. I am very excited about getting this done, to live my life without as many aches and pains, and hopefully with normal BP and cholesterol., but there's a small part if me that feels like a failure to have to rely on surgery to help me loose weight and keep it off. I have succeeded at diets in the past but the weight always comes back on...I just want to be done with that. Does anyone else feel like a failure too?
  6. Thx for the responses...I guess I will call them. I saw tons of tasty protein shake recipes on Pinterest lol..but most have you adding pumpkin, peanut butter, pudding, fruit, etc...I know I will get tired of just plain chocolate or vanilla shakes.
  7. Had my last class today, and the more I think about it, the more confused I get lol. I have read many delicious recipes for protein shakes, but many include peanut butter or bananas or sf pudding mix, etc.. My program says I need to have protein shakes for 3 weeks after surgery....is it ok to include the extras during this 3 weeks or do I simply have to gave protein shake mixed with milk/ water?
