When did you feel "not sick" post op?
Thank you. I keep seeing and hearing all of these stories of people feeling great after just a couple of days. That feels miles away for me.

When did you feel "not sick" post op?
I was sleeved on Monday morning. Monday night into Tuesday afternoon I felt great. Tuesday afternoon I was crying from the gas pain. It's now Wednesday and the nausea is insane. I've had lots of dry heaves and even a few vomiting spells. I just feel sick. When does it get better???

One day post op sudden pain
I'm so sorry you're having such a tough time time. My surgeon came to pay me a visit and reassure me that the day after is the worst it will get and that tomorrow I will feel great. She also said that I need to try and pass gas to get the pain to go away.

One day post op sudden pain
I was Sleeved yesterday and this morning I felt great! But this afternoon, after being taken off of IV meds, I started having excruciating abdominal pain and nasal congestion. I feel like such a baby because the nurse saw me crying, but I totally lost control. The liquid Lortab is helping a little, but too much movement starts up the pain agin. Please tell me it gets better.

Got my sleeve yesterday 2/9/15
I woke up not even knowing I'd been taken to surgery! The nurse gave me medicine to "relax" me while I was in the waiting area. The next thing I knew she was waking me up asking me my pain level. I won't even pretend, the first few hours were awful. It took a little while for me to receive enough pain meds and I felt a heaviness as if someone were sitting on my stomach and chest. I slept a lot, too. By midnight I was feeling just fine. Currently experiencing no pain and zero sleepiness. I haven't yet felt any hunger, either. Complications: my blood pressure went through the roof as a result of the medications I was given. I've also been experiencing some pretty severe tachycardia. During the surgery they discovered an abscess on my tonsils, so I likely will be having surgery to remove that today. But all of those are minor in relation to how amazing I feel. I hope all of my Feb 9th Sleever buddies had good experiences as well.

Pre-Op Diet?
I'm on the last day of my pre-op diet now. It's three protein shakes a day, broth, sugar free jello, sugar free Popsicles, and unlimited raw veggies.

I think the YouTube videos are a great idea! I want to start photo journaling my progress. So far people have been commenting on their notice of my weight loss (about 30lbs since my first consultation 15 of which is from the preop diet) but I don't notice it. Maybe if I can show others the consist progression of weight loss and healthy living, they will see that bariatric surgery isn't the easy way out. It's the decision to change your lifestyle. They may even be inspired to have their own surgeries.

My mom and uncle said that to me just last night! "You're losing weight now without the surgery. Why don't you just diet and exercise instead of relying on surgery to help you lose. Also, when I explained that I want to lose weight to feel good about myself they said that I will still have a miserable self-image when I'm smaller. Really disheartening to hear 48 hours before surgery.

Nor would I. There are so many people outside the Bariatric surgery community who just don't understand my decision to get sleeved

South Jersey area sleeve buddies
Hi, I'm looking for a sleeve support buddy in the south jersey area. I'm getting sleeved on February 9th so I'm still quite new to the process. Having a tough time with the temptations during this liquid pre-op phase. The most I've "cheated" is having progresso 99% fat free vegetable soup a couple of days for dinner. Luckily I am still consistently losing daily. I'm at work now surrounded by people who are chowing down on Thai food and meatball subs. It's torture really. I would love to have a buddy/mentor to keep me motivated and on task, and to just go through the process with me in general.

New Sleever Intro
Thank you wantingabetterlife! A huge part of the reason I wanted this surgery is so that I'll have the stamina to get through an accelerated BSN program. Congratulations on your weight loss success!!!

I have been reading the injury reviews here too. I know my nutritionist has samples so I might ask to try some before I commit to ordering. I really just need to get my Protein up. Stalk away, Vicki!! I will definitely be giving surgery updates.
