  1. pinkbunies...I hope you are being sarcastic. LOL. The Water at my work is YELLOW! Yes yellow! We have bottled water service though! For the vending machine....I would catch the guy that fills it the next time and make your requests...he can probably oblige....
  2. It's a hard decision whether to tell or not. For me I have told my family I am considering it and just a few close friends. When I told my best friend I got the oddest response of " oh, gonna take the easy road huh? Well I don't qualify for it..." I'm chalking that comment up to jealousy or regret because obviously she has looked into it for herself! IF someone comes out and asks me I'm not one to lie, so I will probably fess up. Their reaction to the news will gauge if they remain my friend or not!
  3. My dad used to tell me "don't broadcast your problems looking for sympathy...most either don't care or are happy you are struggling"....the older I get the more I believe in this statement! Jealousy, ignorance, vanity, narcissism, and just plain indifference to your fellow man run rampant these days! Thankfully there are sites like these for like minded people to get answers and to vent from people who understand....
  4. That is awesome! I think the last time I wore a size 12 was in 6th grade! I think I went from Sears Pretty Plus clothes to adult size 12....so one of my goals will be to wear this size again as a proper adult!
  5. Wow! In only 5 months?! That is fantastic! I bet you feel on cloud 9!!!
  6. I just celebrated my 42nd birthday and just like you I've decided to do this! This coming year is for ME! I'm going to a surgery seminar on 11/11 and will have to do 6 months of supervised diet, but I know it will go quickly and by next year at this time I will have lost alot already! I look forward to hearing about and seeing your transformation.
  7. I LOVE your analogy Stevehud...I will have to memorize this! I have yet to start my journey, but I inevitably know SOMEONE will put me down for having surgery....
  8. Great job Eli! I hope you don't think I'm a dirty old lady for saying this....but you are a HOTTIE! If I was only 21 again........
  9. Thanks! So happy to know i am not alone in this journey!
  10. I do all the shopping and cooking...single mom of teen boy. I love diet coke...that is going to be really hard to give up. I worry about the diet too...i have tried atkins type diets in the past and NOT good. I am a carb o holoc! Lol
  11. Hello, I am new to this and signed up to go to a seminar the middle of next month. I know my insurance requires a 6 month supervised diet. For those of you that had to jump through insuance hoops...how did you stand it? I am so anxious and desperate to get this done and start losing that it's killing me! And I haven't even been to the seminar yet! It seems like next summer is soooo far away.... how do I stay motivated and focused on the end goal?
  12. Hi there, I am seriously considering surgery...going next month to a seminar. I have been divorced almost 8 years and have yet to have one relationship! I have forgotten how to flirt. I have had many many 1st dates from dating sites, but I have been attracted to only 1 or 2. I haven't had sex in like 7 years! It is seriously getting to me! My #1 reason for wanting WLS is for my aching knees....but honestly the #2 reason is to find a man I am actually attracted to to have sex!!! Seems the only men that contact me are less than desireable in the looks and jobs department! I can so relate to your post because I know I need help in the social department...having conversations with men and actually putting myself out there more. I too dress very well, am smart and well spoken...I think I either intimidate some men, or I just don't put the "interested" vibe out there enough.... anyway I love reading about everyones experiences and I hope I can make it through all the hoops my insurance co will want me to jump through to get to the "prize"!
