Hello, my name is Amy and I'm from Jackson, MI. I've been recently approved by my insurance to have VSG surgery with Dr. Andre Nunn at Barix Clinic in Ypsilanti. I hope to have it scheduled by the end of this calendar year. My insurance required 6 months of documented dieting which I just completed with my family physician. I've lost 30 pounds by using Fitbit and My Fitness Pal. I'm almost 59 and I'm having the surgery to improve my health. I have rheumatoid arthritis and already had a spinal fusion and both knees replaced. Getting the weight off should help the wear and tear on my joints. My biggest supporter is my husband of 35 years who had an RNY 12 years ago. He was a lightweight but had many health issues which totally went away after his surgery. We have one adult daughter who is also exploring WLS. She's a full time student and living at home with us. She's also a big supporter. I just recently discovered many of the VSG YouTube videos which led me to a few Facebook groups and this wonderful website. I look forward to "meeting" all of you as we go through this journey together. I'm also interested in others who went through Barix Clinic and had surgery with Dr. Nunn.
