  1. Is it possible to have the sleeve and NOT lose hair or is it a sure thing that you will?? Sorry for all the questions. I just feel like this forum is the best place to ask these questions. I've learned so much from all of you already!
  2. McButterpants....how much weight have you lost since surgery? Do you mind sharing your starting weight and where you are now? I appreciate everyone's responses. Thank you!
  3. Well I'm really not doing good...I've only lost 9 pounds in 4 months. My history of diet/exercise hasn't been a success. I don't know why I'm evening having second thoughts....I'm most likely not going to lose this weight on my own.
  4. My insurance requires 6 months of appts with my PCP. I'm over 4 months in but I keep going back and forth on my decision. Did anyone else do that? One week I'm all excited and pumped up to get the sleeve and the next week I feel like maybe I should try to lose it on my own. Ugh....
  5. Praying that everything goes well and that God guides your Surgeon! Keep us updated!
  6. I'm a 37 year old female and will be getting sleeved soon. I'm concerned about loose skin....any tips to help avoid loose skin? I'm also curious if I'll lose my breasts and butt? Any input would be appreciated! Thanks!
  7. If any of you write a letter on your own behalf when submitting to insurance for approval or did you just let your surgeons office handle all that?
  8. I've read on here that some people drink muscle milk for protein. My surgeons office said I could use any protein shake EXCEPT muscle milk but I'm not sure why? Anyone else been told they can't drink muscle milk?
  9. I have BCBS of Kansas City....the approval nurse at BCBS told me that they don't care if my weight fluctuates over the 6 months. They said they go off my highest weight in the 6 month period and as long as I meet all the other requirements I should be good to go.
  10. Good luck! I'll be praying that it gets approved for you!
  11. May I ask why you got denied and what insurance company you have? I'm so afraid of getting denied too
  12. Hello, hoping to connect with some people in the KC area.
  13. I am following all the guidelines for gastric sleeve approval through BCBS of KC but I'm so afraid that something will happen and they will deny my surgery. Has anyone else went through BCBS of KC??
  14. Hi, I'm Jessica. If all goes as planned I will get sleeved in November. I'm so excited that I found this forum and I have learned soooo much already just by reading through the threads.
