  1. Thank you so much. As soon as I complained...it subsided. Onto puréed. And my lord, the first bite was like going to a five star restaurant! May I recommend trader joes fat free black beans w low fat cheese? A 2 oz serving took me 20 min to eat but was 7 gms protein and DELICIOUS. it feels like regular food bc it's ALWAYS served "puréed in the restaurants! Yum!
  2. Thanks everyone for responding but just FYI. I HAVE been walking every day since the first night After surgery for 30 min to an hour. And that's on top of normal daily chores around the apt which include walkin also I'm not on puréed yet. I feel like I've gotten rid of most of the gas. Is this cramping pain in my stomach )but only after I swallow) more??? I guess bc the rest of me feels so good I'm rushing my internal healing. Just wondering if anyone else felt this pain after swallowing one week out?
  3. My recovery has been fairly smooth and uneventful (considering the last time I lost weight the nation was watching) but just wondering: I have 1 oz every 20 min (while awake when I can) and no matter how slowly I ingest, I always seem to feel pain (very much like when you have a large gulp of extra fizzy seltzer and you have that gas pain in your belly til you burp) it subsides eventually but is this normal? Will it subside eventually? Just asking bc I'm supposed to transition to purée next week (very small amts) and imagine it will be even more painful. But I NEED to. There is only so much vitamin water whey protein and miso broth a soon to be former fattie can stand!
  4. I actually only lost 6 but I am under the impression that (unless your doctor has said you are too overweight for surgery) the pre op diet is mainly to shrink your liver as they have to move it during the procedure. Weight loss is just a bonus. If they didn't mandate a weight loss before you're fine. Good for you btw
  5. Two and a half days out. Still in hospital. Now I understand why this is so effective: the mere thought of food disgusts me. It still feels like I hve horrible food poisoning. Always on the verge of nausea. The first few days of recovery are definitely rough, but being in a hospital room with ppl who are awaiting heart transplants, have terminal illness and non elective surgeries certainly helps put it all into perspective. What they say is right: walk as much as possible after the procedure. I should be going home today. Will check in again when it gets better! Best of luck to all of you
  6. Don't back out!! I'm nauseous but they give you all sorts of meds to help!!
  7. SUPEE SORE. WAS nauseous but this hospital is AMAZING The nurses are fantastic. So I'm officially short sleeved girl. Good luck and safe journeys!
  8. Thanks guys. I'm actually excited about the anesthesia. Had to go under for my upper endoscopy. Right before I went down my dr, knowing I was a comic said, any last words. I replied "I know you're using propophyl. And I'm very aware of what the outcome could be. Keep in mind my sister is a lawyer. And we're Jewish"
  9. Getting the sleeve. I'm going to start calling myself "short sleeved girl" I'm a comedian so hopefully I'll heal quickly. Belly laughs are my living.
  10. I don't want to identify myself YET but let's just say I was on a certain reality show and won money for losing weight on my own. That was 8'years ago. I kept it off for about 5 but then had surgeries and was severely anemic. That coupled with another issue and I gained a bit back. I'm super short so I decided to give myself this gift. I shouldn't HAVE to work out 2 + hours a day to maintain weight loss. I don't even eat poorly. Just too much of the healthy stuff. (Pretty certain my body believes it's a 6'7" NBA player) in any event my surgery is tomorrow and I'm terrified. There's nothing I hate more than throwing up. Tell me I'll be ok. Thanks in advance.
