  1. @@Tired_of_being_Tired, I also gulp my Water down. That is the only way I can meet my 72oz requirement.
  2. @@GenaH, I got rid of 2 bags of clothes this weekend and it felt good. I feel good about how I look and my confidence has increased. You will look and feel more beautiful in clothes that fit. I am loving the new me. Bye, bye to the clothes and the old me. Lol!
  3. @@Tired_of_being_Tired, I would discuss it with your NUT. I had to eat 2oz of Protein at each meal. Mind you the bones also make the meat look bigger. Try weighing your food.
  4. @@juls0102, I started my chews after the surgery. I would ask your physician because your blood work will tell is your are deficient.
  5. @@nikki9, you will be on bariatricfull liquids. Walk, walk. It helps prevent blood clots and gets you on a good path to recovery. Good luck. I was nervous as well
  6. It looks like most people are losing the weight slowly. I think that is the best way to go. Less excess skin. Personally, I do not want to go under the knife for cosmetic reasons, so if that means losing slow and the skin firms back into place, I am all for it. Good luck everyone!
  7. @@jelmore8312000 you don't have to go to the gym to build muscles. You can buy dumbbells and use at home. Try climbing the stairs etc. I am sure if you google, you can find some workouts to do at home to build muscle. Good luck!
  8. @@mbrinmn great advice! Where are you ordering your undergarments from and what brand? Thanks!
  9. I hope everyone is doing great. I can't complain on my end. My co-workers noticed my weight loss at work today. I am losing slow. I do the ellipticals 5x a week. I have increased the intensity of the workout. I am thinking of joining a gym. Anyone started a gym yet?
  10. @@Thinkingthinner1109 haha.. I must say I drink 64oz Water and 8oz milk that I use to mix my Protein powder. Once in a while, I will have 8oz of tea.
  11. @@bajanqueen70 Thanks for sharing.
  12. @@AlanaRN, my dietitian said all fluids I take in count toward the 72oz requirement.
  13. @@thelion99, I use myfitnesspal to track my calories. Even though I set my calorie to 1000, I get in between 800 - 850 a day. I try to eat more but then I get so full. I drink between 64oz - 72oz of fluids on most days.
  14. @@mskiesha29, have you tried unflavored Protein with milk? I use Nature's best Isopure unflavored Protein powder. I order it from amazon. I get more of my protein from foods. 2oz of canned tuna and salmon have about 13g of protein. I take in about 80 - 90 grams of protein a day and 35 is from the protein powder and 1% milk.
  15. @@LadyK44, I love being sleeved too! Congrats and wish you all the best
  16. @@old_rn I read on another forum that people lose hair even when they get in the required protein, vitamins etc. From other forums, it appears everyone's hair and body is different. I have had my hair in braids since the beginning of August. I figured if I am not combing the hair, less chances of hair loss. I only comb it when I take the braids out. So far so good. Good luck!
  17. @@Sandi in FL as @@Miaoreo stated, you should think outside the box. I eat salmon, tuna, chilli, etc for breakfast. You can also try Jimmy Dean's breakfast sausage or patties. Goodluck!
  18. @@Thinkingthinner1109 congrats!
  19. @@mskiesha29, I think you are doing great. I also belong to other groups here and you are correct on people consuming wine. One blogger consumed 2 glasses of wine at a sitting! I use myfitnesspal and it tracks sugar etc. You can set a goal of how much carbs, sugar, fat etc. I set my goal for 50% protein, 30% carbs and 20% fat. MFP then calculates what your daily sugar, sodium etc should be. Good luck!
  20. @@deelavi, I mix skim or 1% milk with my Protein shakes.
  21. @@Karen Scott Great job! Way to go
  22. @@motherof5 I think for the flax seeds you should get the powdered one. Taking the seeds are difficult to digest versus the chia seeds. My advice is to check with your NUT first.
  23. Hello Ladies, Hope everyone had a great week. I was cleared by my NUT to start taking Chia seeds. I used to add these to my yogurt before surgery. I am glad to say, I have been regular since starting the Chia seeds with no problem. I have not used Miralax all week. Wishing everyone a wonderful week.
  24. @@motherof5, is it possible to insert 2014 in the group name? There is another August group going on. Thanks!
  25. So for those that are complaining of being stuck, please do your research. It is part of the process. I am sorry if I sound harsh. Stalls or plateaus are part of losing weight, whether with surgery or not. That is how the human body works. Weight loss surgery is not a magic pill and the weight falls off. It is just like any other weight loss plan; the difference is, this prevents regaining. Relax and enjoy the journey. If your clothes are getting loose on you, you are fine.
