Well, today I started my protein shake diet. Drank a chocolate supreme shake from Unjury for breakfast. I made it with almond milk and it tasted almost as good as chocolate ice cream. Of course, now that I've started this phase and am committed to it, all I can think about it food! Wish me luck. See you on the 20th at La Casitas on Central Ave. in Fridley. Marybeth

Hi again, Frankie, I was wondering if you would mind corresponding through email. I have some questions I'd love to ask about the type of pre-op and post-op procedures and materials you were provided. I'll email you what I received, which I think are kind of "bare." My biggest worry after the whole thing is Vitamins. Did you receive any information on post-op vitamins? Thanks for the info Frankie. Again, when do you have your surgery? I researched quite a few doctors and found one that I liked, but I had to go through Specialized Bariatrics, Inc., to schedule everything with this particular doctor. Where in Mexico are you going? I am having mine surgery done by Dr. Jaqueline Osuna in Tjinuana. It's good to know someone else is trying the Mexico route. My insurance didn't cover bariatric surgery, so this was really the only alternative I had. I'll be very interested to speak with you. Marybeth

Well, a Las Margaritas margarita may have to be my liquid dinner for that night. I'm not a big drinker either, but generally margaritas are my drug of choice...or a good pilsner. What I think I am REALLY going to miss is my morning Diet Coke. I may have to switch back to coffee. See you on the 20th.

I live in Woodbury. Champlin would be quite a hike for me and probably for a few others...those from Red Wing and Burnsville. If we did a weekend lunch sometime, I'd be in to meet in Albertville or Becker. Are we good to go for Wednesday the 20th at Las Margaritas in Fridley this time around? That's a pretty central location for almost everyone involved. That is one week before my surgery, so I'll be on a liquid diet too. I'll be right there with you, agirlnamedfrankie.

I'm in if we can do it before the 25th. That's when I head off to have my surgery.

I am home sick today and cannot make tonight's group meeting. Have only had one response as to attendance, so maybe we should cancel tonight and shoot for another evening. I am so sorry to put a big kink in the plan.

I am wondering if I can get some insight on Vitamins. I think I should start to introduce them into my diet at this time. I'm the one who is getting my surgery done in Mexico, so I don't get much advanced counseling on things like vitamins. Does anyone have Vitamin recommendations? What should I take? What should I not take? What should not be taken together? I know there are many kinds of vitamin interactions and inefficacies depending on how you take them, with what, and when. I'm looking forward to our dinner next Wednesday, but if you have any information or a web site to share, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Marybeth

Anyone available on Wednesday, July 16 in the Fridley area. How about LaCasitas on Central Ave. in Fridley, just south of hwy 694? Thank you to the last group of ladies who gave me some great recommendations on whey Protein drinks. I have started to incorporate one into my daily routine.

Not sure if you saw my post. I feel like I don't get the message and posting part of this site. I thought we could maybe look out into July and get something scheduled. I "threw out" Wednesday, July 16, for starters. Suggested we meet more centrally to the whole twin cities area...when I look at a map, Roseville seems to be about the middle of the Twin Cities and outer lying suburbs/towns, or maybe Fridley/Columbia Heights. Lots of highway access to both areas.

Let's look ahead at next month's calendar. Would it work for anyone/everyone to meet the week of the 14th? Maybe Wednesday, July 16? Maybe we can do a more centralized twin cities location. What about Roseville or Bloomington? Or maybe New Brighton or Fridley? Any other suggestions?

Debra, So glad to hear your news. I know we haven't met yet, but I hope you'll welcome some best wishes from a stranger. I can't imagine what the past days have been for you, but I bet you're looking forward to getting on with all that you have planned for yourself now. I look forward to meeting you.
