  1. Hello Tgarden ~ I have the same mattress and am two weeks post-surgery. A couple of years ago, I went through physical therapy for some back problems and my PT showed me the best way to sit up without straining the stomach or back muscles. Lay on your side and use your arms/hands to gradually push yourself up. Then swing your legs over the side of the bed and you are in a seated position! This really does help keep the stress off of the stomach muscles.
  2. I had my surgery on 3/18 also and was required to do the 2-week liquid diet, which included two Protein drinks a day. I was allowed to have greek yogurt and cream Soups during this phase, so that helped quite a bit. It's definitely not easy to stick to, but it can be done. A lot of people told me that day 3 would be the hardest. They were right; once I got past that day, my cravings were easier to control. To anyone out there who has to go through the liquid diet, I just want to say "you can do it".
  3. Hi ~ I just joined this site today and have enjoyed exploring it. I just had my surgery last week at Salem Hospital. I met a couple of other ladies at the pre-op nutrition class who also had their surgeries last week. We have been keeping in touch for the past few weeks, supporting each other along the way. It's nice to see that there is also a forum/support system online. Good luck, everyone! This is going to be an amazing journey!
