  1. 1 week from today!! So excited! I started my Pre-Op diet with a cold and no appetite ( blessing in disguise) I feel lucky that it hasn't been as bad as I thought. I feel like I'm doing it wrong. Shakes and salad and protein is what they told me... Hmm. I think the straight liquids may be the real test!! Wish me luck!
  2. Protein and soft food diet. They recommend this for 7 days and liquids for 3. I'm thinking the oatmeal and the shakes are fine- I'll stay away from the bars.
  3. I was curious about Medifast meals for variety. They are portioned, minimal carbs & only 100 cal. I have some left from my last failed attempted and thought it might be ok. It gets you to ketosis as well, just curious if anyone has incorporated it for variety. I figured it beats cheating. -raychel
  4. Good Luck and speedy recovery! I will be in your shoes next week!
  5. I hear ya! I'm just glad it happen before and not after. The good news, this cold has killed my appetite so I went ahead and started today. Today is also day 3 of no coffee. Hopefully it's a blessing in disguise. If I feel better tomorrow - I will exercise. Feel better & thanks for the advise
  6. I came home yesterday with a terrible cold, the good news... I have ZERO appetite. I start my diet tomorrow but wonder if my cold medicines will effect anything. I'm taking Day- Quill and Zantac for now and trying to keep it to a minimum. Did anyone else have this blessing happen to them lol! Any advise? Raychel
  7. Super Great topic! Funny enough, I'm usually an open book but for some reason I knew exactly who I would be telling and who I wouldn't, personal life and work. I only told my boss who I love and is very cool and one of my very good co- worker girlfriends. I feel weird sometimes because I am super close to 2 other guys at work that I share a lot with but I didn't tell them. I may tell them after but for now, it's fun having something of my own My advise would be to only tell people who you know will support you. That's all you need right now!
  8. That's wonderful then! My appetite comes and goes. After work is the hardest. Just trying to keep my eyes on the prize
  9. Let the countdown begin! I'm so excited, nervous & hopeful- all at once. My surgery date is April 14th and I start my pre-op diet in the 4th, this is what I'm most nervous of. GOD GIVE ME STRENGTH! Had a great 5 yr anniversary/ Food Funeral Celebration and I think I feel ready! So looking forward to the new me but I would be lying if I didn't admit the old me wasn't a bit scared of such change
  10. I'm scheduled the 14th with dr Venezuela at MBC. I'm super excited & a little nervous. I have read a few times that these 3 things are a MUST to bring, so I thought I'd share. Gas Ex Thin Strips Lip Balm Comfy Pillow ( colored pillow sheet so you don't forget it) hospitals use all white I've heard the gas is pretty bad and the Gas ex is a life saver. You are also very dry mouthed so the lip balm will help. A comfy pillow is everything when you are stuck in bed. I'm adding in baby wipes incase I can't shower right away! -R
  11. Speedy recovery indeed Tiff! When you are able, get some Gas Ex thin strips. They are suppose to really help & they are fast dissolving. Feel better, your in the home stretch now! You got this! I'm getting mine April 14th. I'm excited & nervous( much more excited ) -raychel
  12. April 15th for me! Dr Venezuela at MBC in TJ! So excited! My co- worker got hers done there last month and she was so happy with the whole process & more so, the outcome!! CANT WAIT!
  13. Hi Everyone, My name is Raychel and I am getting sleeved in Mexico ( Tijuana) mid April. My co- worker had it done there 7 months and couldn't be happier. She said the facility was clean, everyone was very comforting and sweet. They offer to pick you up at the SD airport and take you to the Marriott where you stay the first and last night. She also mentioned that going with them was better than driving because the can cross back faster using a special medical line. I feel grateful that I have someone to walk me through everything ( my co-worker) So I'm happy to share all the knowledge I have. I'm super excited and can't wait to start my journey! -r
