  1. I cleared all the pre-op checks yesterday and I report to Surgery early Friday Morning 17 Jan. I am anxious and excited. I am very anxious about keeping up with all the lifestyale changes that are required. But I have done pretty well through all the prep for surgery. I also have a number of minor stomach issues that could meke things a bit more complicated, so that makes me a little nervous. I am looking forward to getting this weight off my knees and adopting an eatting lifestyle that will benefit both myself and my husband as he is diabetic and I do the cooking.
  2. Thank you all. My Dr. has a very limitied number of shakes and I actually like the one that was given. So I got lactaid. I can mix the shake with water, but the dairy content was still killer, plus we had guidance to eat yogurt so that sent me over the top. I only had one shake yesterday and LOTS of clear liquids. I got the acidophilus and lactaid going. Felling much more norma today and no pain. Your thoughts were much appreciated.
  3. Anyone who might know this answer. I am scheduled for the band on 17 Jan. I started on all liquids Monday, and have done pretty well until last night. Hunger has not been as much of an issue as my lactose intollerance. I had no idea it was this bad because I don't use milk or yogurt much. I have been following the 60-80mg of protien shakes, no/low-cal liquids and broths, with about 45 carbs or less per day. Last night I woke up at 1 AM with my stomach in major pain. my reg stomach meds did not work, so ran to get acidophilis and lactaid when the store opened, So far I am a littel better. I am wondering if I cooked eggwhites with 1 egg for the full protien and had broth for the evening if that woudl hurt. It wouid simply give my system a break from the milk based stuff. Does anyone know???
  4. i ma right there with you. I ma scheduled for Jan17. Our profiles look very similar. I am struggling with some stomach upset and hunger today on the pre-op, but all else is going well.
