Hello. I am now home from the hospital. Surgery was Tues morning. I had a rough time with pain meds as I'm allergic to codeine but I walked and did what I needed to do. I am currently home without pain meds as the pharmacy couldn't fill the prescription. They wrote it wrong and docs aren't calling them back. Just my luck of course. Aside from that I'm doing well. Now just trying to learn to deal with at home diet meds etc. I hope the others that had surgery this week check in soon.

Hello, I had my surgery today at 7:20 am. I had a calm peace about it. I was nervous once I was in the hospital getting prepped but expectedly so. All went well. I'm not in pain. Just sore. I've walked about 15 laps total today around the floor. They were 15 small laps but I'm feeling good about it. Just wanted to check in and let you know I made it. I hope our other surgery buddies did well today too.

Oh my goodness jlmckee. I'm so with you and well said. I just got the phone call from the hospital. My surgery is at 7 am. I have to be there at 6 am. It's finally here. I'm just now drinking my Magnesium Citrate. It is disgusting. Like really, really disgusting. I got lemon. I could barf but that's ok I'm doing this and I am sooooooo ready. I won't be sleeping tonight. I never sleep anyway but I know it won't be happening tonight. I'll be up trying to distract myself. I'm glad it's first thing in the am. Less time to chicken out. I've told so few people about it that it's easy to pretend it's not happening but now it's here.

Awesome! Thank you. The nervousness and excitement are both there. Tomorrow is my last day before the big day. I did get Gas X strips. I thought that was a great idea by someone. I'm actually getting my hair done in the am. With my friend. Then it's liquid and that drink stuff for me. I can't believe it's finally here v

That's what my hubby was saying. The hospital will provide gripper socks and their gown,etc. my question is what do you wear while walking around the hospital. I'm told they get you up right away.

Jlmckee great list too. I was wondering if they would let me bring my own PJ's? I have a ton of paperwork and info from my hospital and docs but curiously enough nothing about what to bring to the hospital.

Wow Snow Daisy. You are prepared. Good for you. Even if you don't need it all it's always good to have just in case. I haven't even thought about what I'm bringing yet. I've told very few peeps about my surgery so it's easy for me not to think too much about it. I need to get busy!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing :-)

Snow Daisy glad to hear we are surgery buddies!!!! Your hubby sounds like a great guy. I guess I'm not the only one having little nervous spats. I'm a bit nervous again my surgery will get canceled because I have the stomach bug. Good luck to you!!!!

You guys have such great words of encouragement, thank you!!!!!!! That makes sense. Oh how wonderful it would be to be satisfied by one cookie!!!! That alone is reason for surgery, lol! A friend of mine who had the surgery said the reason she has never had sugar again is because of the dumping syndrome she experienced after surgery. She said after that she never wanted it. Thanks everyone for your wonderful help and advice. I'm ready!!!!!!!

Kcamp my surgery is Tuesday. I just had a mini freak out moment. I've been so sure and so ready until last night when I started to get nervous and second guess myself. Fortunately I'm back on track and looking forward to having this done. I know it won't be easy at times but I'll have to get through it like everyone else. I am so happy for you!!!!! Hope your feeling stronger everyday.

Thank you that was great info. I'm having a freak out moment. I just realized I will never be able to eat girl scout cookies or homemade chocolate chip cookies again. I can't believe I'm actually having these thoughts but I am. It's so weird. I'm starting to second guess myself and I've been so sure all along. I could care less about food as in meals but I love sweets. I can't imagine never having them again.

Kcamp how are you doing with hunger and pain?
