  1. I can't relate I was not put on a Pre Op diet and it was no big deal. I tried to follow recommendations of attempting to lose some weight but it didn't happen as the more insulin I took the more I wanted to ate and craved foods. No One was specific about a pre Op diet they suggested losing 6-8 LBS before surgery date and a 2 day bowel prep. My surgery was Tuesday the 19th on Saturday I woke up intending to fast until surgery but failed as Saturday night ate like a horse. Sunday and Monday I pushed it and took gas pills etc a little Protein Sunday as it said but Monday stayed all clear. In the end it make no difference. My Sleeve is a miraculous lost 28 LBs since surgery as of today. I read where some Pre Op Diets are drastic I admire those who accomplish the task. But it's not a huge deal not too either in my opinion. Godspeeed
  2. Good for you pre op diet I could not do one too stressful I fasted 2 days out thats it before that over ate over injected insulin now doing well we were sleeved 24 hours apart i lost 18 first week no scaled again yet might stay away cause feeling great
  3. Sleeved the 19th lost 18 first week. Just started softs foods yesterday before that all Protein shakes 2 day 50 gram each (I don't do those 12 gram ones) liquids no problem clear urine stream daily up all night too:). Sugars drop nothing less than amazing. Energy high started 1.5 miles walks yesterday. So far Miraculous!
  4. Atkins was the Man! I lost my first big weight in 1978 at 24 following it lost 70-80 pounds in record time. If Only I could stay on it:) But one thing is for sure after being sleeved I ignore this potatoes ,sugar ats. This guy won't lose messing with that stuff. Sleeve is life changing. But Atkins laid the ground work for diet long ago. RIP DR. Atkins!
  5. I'm 13 days post op my energy levels getting intense been brisk walking. i lost 18 LBs first week but I'm hoping I can stay away from the darn scale until I go back to the doctor the 23rd. The scale is the problem it plays mind games and the most you should ever weigh is every week but even that might mess with me. So staying focused this thing is really working can tell by my blood sugars, and clothes fitting better. I'd like to check the scale once a month the most!
  6. I'd stay away from weighing more than once a week. I was down 18lbs 5 days after surgery but at Doctor visit same weight so no loss 2 days. it's so physiological I stay away from scale. Once a week Maybe no more weigh in morning out of bed
  7. 10 Days post op had my first Starbucks today keeping it to 1 a day and over hydrating to help it. But Soda could care less Diet Coke got me FAT it causes craving
  8. The shoulder gas pain is bad I'm 10 days post op still when i lay down the shoulder starts. my Surgeon encourged me to eat those gas ex pills. They help. I am far past sipping liquid goes down easy staying well hydrated. But too fast causes the gas.
  9. Thanks you're further along then me I guess I will be able to have the caffeine eventually
  10. All things about this surgery have been good but I wanna brew a starbucks was hooked on caffeine many years only off since surgery. (No Decaf for me flavor not there). They say after 6 months one cup is ok. I don't think i can make that. Everything else is fine but not the no Coffee! I'm well hydrated so I might take the plunge here soon but this early guess I should wait it out a bit? I had 3 Keurig's before surgery sold 2 because I knew wouldn't need them everywhere but josh I crave a good Thanksgiving bleand
  11. I will never shop GNC, or the Bariatric sites stuff is marked up too high it's outrageous. GoD this list is long I'm told to get 90 grams a day and Isopure has always done it for me $50 right to my door from Amazon 21 50 G Protein serving hard to beat. These watered down things have 12 grams so I need 8 shakes a day this way I do 2 day day get 100 grams (the extra can't hurt)
  12. HAHa I knew before I came out not going to use much Pain gave pump up a day after took so oral pain but nothing hurt bad enough to keep abusing drugs been there done that. I've seen too many little old ladies hooked on Pills. Lost a good friend who was honorable until getting hooked. Think about what you said. I'm ready to go back to work now. Sorta like Larry the cable Guy get errr done! Tyenol worked fine and all pain is history
  13. I had mine Tuesday November 19th 5 days Post Op with two days fasting before down 18 lbs already noticed the thinning face shaving this morning. Energy now coming back and heading to work Dec 1st. I threw Pain Med Prescription away right away. My 5 abdominal Hernia operations were a lot rougher this in comparison was easy. They talked about joining online forums. But I'm not into them too much, got young children, a job and generally don't like Internet except for debating freedom from the tyranny we are becoming, especially in Health and the solution is so simple. Well glad I did this sure its gonna be a nice journey.
