  1. I find myself looking at the clock and calculating whether or not is time to eat again. As far as the food, I'm having 4 shakes and one soup. I actually look forward for my soup since it's the only savory dish that I'm allow to eat. The other day I had the low fat chicken noodle soup from Panera Bread, I blended it and it was delish!!
  2. Banded on the 18th and back to work today!! Still sore in the area but so far so good! is anyone back to work? Ps. I have a sitting job
  3. I had my surgery on Monday. The best thing to do is walk and walk. I have been walking around the house like a hamster in a spinning ball! Lol. I still have gas in my stomach but the rest is gone. Wish you the best!
  4. I'm glad you're doing good. Get some rest then start walking around the house!
  5. Wow! That was fast! They are not keeping you overnight?
  6. Thanks for the tips! I'm just a little concern with the coughs and the incisions. But I do put a pillow in front of my belly for support. I'm glad you are doing great!
  7. So far so good! I have been trying to do some walking around the house. Right now I have gas pains, my stomach still a little swollen and from time to time I get a little cough.
  8. Thanks ladies! I'm doing better a little sore. I believe I'll going home this afternoon!
  9. Thank you ladies! I'm in my room. I'm sore and my left side of my back is hurting. I was getting the plication as well but due to scar tissue from previous surgeries, The doctor didn't do it. But other than that I'm ok.
  10. I'm at the hospital, my surgery it's scheduled for this morning @ 7:00 am (EST)
  11. I'm having mine surgery on the 18th. We can be lap band sister!
  12. Oh no! I just got my package from bariatric advantage with all my vitamins. I hope I don't get sick!
  13. I have been on my pre op diet for over a week now and I have only lost 3lbs. I wonder if the PCOS has something to do with that?
  14. I'm glad to hear that you are much better!
  15. Ain't nobody got time for that!! I have chosen not to tell to many people for the same reason. Don't want to know, don't want it hear it. Many times people, yes with good intentions try to tell you why you should not have the surgery and yes they always know someone that is not happy with their lap band. But do they know all the facts of why they are not sucessful? Nope Therefore, I pay no mind!!! My surgery is this coming Monday, I can't Wait!!!
  16. Thank you so much!! I really can't wait!
  17. One thing that I have noticed so far with me, is that I have been on the liquid pre-op diet since last Wednesday and I only have lost like 3lbs. I'm really concern that with the pcos the weight loss after surgery will be really slow!
  18. Thank you ladies! @ Bandista Yes, I'll be staying at the hospital for a night. I'm glad you are doing so well. I can't wait for the 18th to get here. Thanks for the tips and I wish you the best on your follow up appointment.
  19. I'm a newbie in this site and I'm already getting sick and tired of people using this as a way to argue about who knows best, lap band haters etc. Like the majority of people here, when I decided to register to this site was to get encouragement, support and tips on how to deal with this new journey that I'm about to start. It is soooo sad that every single time that I visit this site instead of leaving refresh with lots info I see a whole bunch of negative comments. ENOUGH PEOPLE!!! Time to focus and get it together!! That been said, My lapband/plication is on the 18th of this month. I started my preo-op diet last Wed. It's been difficult but ok at the same time. I feel like before I didn't think as much about food but since I started my pre- op liquid diet I'm constantly looking at the clock to make sure that I eat something within 3 or 4 hours. But despite that I'm looking forward for my new begenning.
  20. Wow... So sorry! I'm glad that you are doing much better! I'll be very upset with the surgeon, sounds like him or his team did not know what they were doing! Wish you a speedy recovery!
  21. Congratulations on your surgery!! Mine is on the 18th, I can't wait!! Wish you a speedy recovery!!
  22. The doctor gave me Birth Control & Metformin. I still take the BC but my body did not agree with the metformin. So I'm not longer taking it.
  23. According to the article the food goes completely acroos the band if we wait a minute between bites. It doesn't said anything about the food sitting in the esophagus if we don't drink and eat. Quote from the article: swallow, then wait a minute. The patient must wait for that bite to go completely across the band before swallowing another bite. Normally, it will take between two and six peristaltic waves passing down the esophagus, which can take up to one minute. This is probably the biggest challenge of educating the patient who has undergone LAGB. You must instruct the patient to eat slowly—chew well, swallow, and then wait one minute.
