  1. I'm so glad you are not in pain. And I'm. Glad you've decided to join the "band" lol!
  2. Aahhhh Miralax...that should help. I have some as well. Thanks. This gas comes and goes. Annoying!
  3. Thanks everybody! I did get burped, that did help. The heating pad is very much my friend and I feel better sleeping sitting up. Everyday is getting better. Not really hungry. Great start huh?
  4. Day 2 & 3 will get better. Sip, sip, SIP water. It's important to stay hydrated. Move as much as you can within reason to move that gas. Remember you had an invasion to your insides. Rest and heal. Welcome to band land.
  5. I'm feeling 1000% better! Clear liquids for 2 days then puddings and protein supplements day 3 - 14. Then after that I can start with mushy foods.
  6. Yeah my husband discovered my dehydration because when I got home I slept so long. Not drinking. But please know that I'm drinking now!!!
  7. Thanks Valerie KK, I actually was able to lie in recliner with my knees up. I was able to expel some gas. Never been so excited to pass gas!! Lol!
  8. Thanks Love. Will continue the walking, and pray for relief.
  9. Got my band this morning. Suffering from serious gas!! Hurts the devil!!! I've been walking a lot. It's moved down. Right above my belly button. Gas X not really working. Any suggestions???
  10. Yaaaaaaayyyyy!!!!! I'm excited for you!!!! Make sure you drink plenty of water during this phase. As well as when you come home. ????
  11. Hey everybody. Well......I've joined the "band" or should I care the band joined me,. Lol!! I'm doing okay except for this gas.. HORRIBLE!!! I'm trying to drink water. Seriously dehydrated. I almost passed out. Not cool....
  12. andy1, only you know if this is for you. You've come this far. Why back out now? We all have fears and the what Ifs. I think you'll do well. This is for the betterment of your life. I am sending this to you from my hospital bed preparing for my lapband. So.... I'm here.... I expect to see a post from you on Friday morning. Good luck. :-)
  13. Sitting here in the surgery waitng room with my husband ..... Waiting to go back and get prepped for my band!! I'm so excited and nervous at the same time!!! Talk to y'all later from the banded side!!
  14. Uh oh....no shade throwing. That was a mean little jab. I don't think pretty thick 1 meant it that way. What she was trying to say was is that someone who has had mediocre weight loss results in a 2 year period of time really doesn't have room to give advice. And considering how rude she was to me in the waiting room I concur with Pretty thick 1's statement. And to answer the question for pretty thick 1, has she done well........she has done VERY WELL.
  15. Are you drinking your liquids every 15 minutes . Don't know what your doc or nutritionists directed you to do, but I haste that you're hungry. They have clear protein you can drink. Try that for your hunger pangs.
  16. Glad you found someone nearby. I'm 30min south of Atlanta. Congrats on your surgery date. Mine is Wednesday.
  17. Look here baby... (in my big mama voice) you made a decision that will affect the rest of your life in a positive way. You are going to be one Sexy Chicky and she's still gonna be a fat lonely piggy. I say that in the mean spirited way she said what she said to you. On the plus side maybe you'll be the vessel to send her on way to healthyville. Stay up honey and know at your tender age of 26.....everyone is not your friend. Good luck.
  18. How about you just don't use the term "colored" anymore unless speaking about a box of crayons. If you'd said "colored" in my presence there would have repercussions and consequences. However you are right about black folk being a target. Now... Back to the matter of the cush. I won't smoke it now or after my surgey because the inhale process tends to make me gassy . Maybe again when im 6 months post op.
  19. So happy for all of you prepping for your surgeries. Mine is next Wednesday, in the Pre-op liquid diet........ I can't wait until this is over and hunger won't be an issue.
  20. I found for me that the EAS shakes don't seem to keep me full. I buy the the protein vials from Walmart, they are flavored in watermelon, fruit punch and grape. I use low fat yogurt, frozen fruit and one of those vials which has 42GM of protein (the same as EAS ) , that seems to keep me fuller longer. Maybe it's the powder, milky protein that's making you nauseous.
  21. You are normal in your fears. I had the same issue with the negativity. I just won't read or listen to anything negative. I only look for the positive. This is your decision and yours alone to make. The negative is you not taking the necessary steps to become a healthier you. You'll be fine. :-)
  22. SweetGeorgiaT, I done told you baby D!!! You need to come on up to Southern Regional!
