  1. I just wanted to say I live in Maryland just outside of Baltimore. I have not seen anyone on here from the area so I thought I would say hi
  2. It is not uncommon for a doctors office to charge a fee for medical records. Especially if it is 2 years worth.
  3. I can tell you from personal experience that hormone based BC (like the pills or patch) do not get absorbed fully and therefore are not nearly as effective. I did get pregnant w/in a year of surgery while being on the pill. It all makes sense because we will never absorb anything (food or medicine) the same. A non hormonal BC is best. Please don't crush or break BC pills. That makes them 100% ineffective in anyone. You can't crush pills like that or most mess at all.
  4. Just keep in mind we don't actually absorb vitamins like everyone else. Even people w/o the surgery don't actually absorb the full amount of the vitamin. It is my understanding from nutritionist and the doctors that childrens vitamins are absolutely not adequate nor are "regular" types like Centrum. We need specialized vitamins for Bariatric patients. I had RNY in 2005 and now have severe vitamin deficiencies because back then research didn't show how ineffective everyday vitamins are to us. I have gained about 75% of my weight back and will be having a revision.
  5. Thanks for responding. I had no problem (medically) with my RNY GBP. I just don't understand that actual physical process of what my doctor is calling "bypass to bypass"
  6. Has anyone had a RNY bypass revision? I had GBP in January 2005 and did great by losing almost 100 lbs. But in 2009 I started gaining weight back due to reverting back to my poor emotional eating habits after a horrible divorce. I have gained 75 lbs back and I'm pursuing a revision. My surgeon is well renowned for revisions but I don't know anyone who has their RNY redone. Any feedback?
