  1. I went shopping with my girls and went into one of those teeny bopper stores (OMG that makes me sound so old), but you know the type of store I'm talking about. I tried on a pair of jeans there size 15/16 and THEY FIT!! I didn't like them at all and didn't buy them but I was so excited that they fit. I also stood in front the mirror at the gym the other day and I didn't want to gag!! HA HA, yeah I know that's cruel but I felt closer to average and didn't feel like the one fat girl at the gym. It was amazing!
  2. WOW good for you! I am 5 weeks post op tomorrow and have lost 25 since surgery. What is your secret, lol? You are doing great!
  3. WOW, what happened? So glad to hear you are home and doing well.
  4. My plateau finally broke!! I lost 2 lbs this week for a total of 52lbs! 25 since surgery
  5. Milk and yogurt. I am fine with cheese and the whey protein sits fine too.. It was terrible you could hear my stomach from across the room.
  6. You NEED the protein, get those shakes in. Your body will think you are starving. You need them for weight loss. As far as dumping, milk and yogurt are the only things that have made me dump.
  7. Thats exactly when I stalled. I lost 22lbs in the first three weeks and then stalled for a whole week as a matter of fact, I went up 2 lbs. I am 5 weeks now and the scale finally has gone back down those 2 lbs again. My NUT said to really focus on protein and sometimes this helps break through it but be reassured that you are still losing inches.
  8. I am so jealous,I mean I am so happy for you lol. I am 17 lbs from onederland. It must feel amazing! Keep up the good work!
  9. Could be a few different things, dehydration, calcium and Vitamin D according to the sleep doctor I saw are the most common. I started to take presc. strength Vit D pre op because mine was so low and it helped.
  10. When I had my sleep study the physician I talked to about my RLS said it often can be from nutrient deficiency. I would share it with your physician, they may want to do some labs.
  11. great idea! Maybe I will try that at lunch! Someone else also suggested making a scrambled egg with cottage chesse in it. I haven't tried it but it would definitely add protein.
  12. Hummus has some protein but you are right not a lot about 2g usually. It is better than eating something with none I suppose and it is usually well tolerated.
  13. It is really scary, I was on my way back from the coast when I heard the news. I live about 60 miles north of Boston. I was just there last week in that very spot taking my son to Children's Hospital. My heart aches for them all. Prayers for Boston!
  14. Starting size was a 22 now down into 18's and some sixteens. Realistically I would like to be a 8-10 dream size would be a 6!
  15. Last week 221, this week 218 for a grand total of <dumroll please> 50 pounds!!!! So excited!!
  16. WAY TO GO!!! This is only the beginning! I am 23 days out and have lost 22lbs. For once I am actually looking forward to this summer!
  17. I am a nurse and work in the hospital so I had to take six weeks off because of the lifting that I do. I wasn't able to take a shower until I went home (2 days post-op). I brushed my teeth every day and was up and around and doing great.
  18. https://www.facebook.com/hlscott20?ref=tn_tnmn there is the link to my fb page, if you do care to join....
  19. wow, GO YOU!! In onederland already! I am so jealous, 18lbs to go for me. I am so so happy to see that you are home and doing better! It must feel amazing to be out of the hospital!
  20. Welcome, ask away! There are tons of people on here who are so kind and helpful! Congratulations on beginning your journey!
  21. can you have chicken and fish? I can on my diet and I eat a lot of tuna and canned chicken breast with low fat mayo. I look around a lot to find things that I think my belly will tolerate. I made turkey chili this week and used my hand blender to soften it up with some melted cheddar on top and it was amazing and has lots of protein between the beans, the ground turkey and the cheese.
  22. Yippee, that's great news! So happy for you!!
  23. I am doing alright I went to my 3 week post op visit today and I have lost 20lbs. I am on the pureed diet and I love it perhaps because I was getting so sick of full liquids. My main complaint is that I have been SOOOO tired this week. I also found out today that I have thrush.....yuck....I told my surgeon about it a couple weeks ago and he didn't think so but, I had a dentist appt. today and yep, thats what Ive got alright. Nystatin is so disgusting!! Hope you're doing well Kathy
