  1. That's great hope the best for both you and hubby..it will be super for the both of you to have each other to go on this wonderful journey together...great to be able to lean on each other when support is needed and share the joys together.. almost like getting married again..
  2. If you think they will be a discouragement to you..then maybe you shouldn't tell them..we are on a very difficult life changing journey that out of lack of knoweledge some just assume we are taking an easy way out.. and can get very judgemental for various reason maybe out of concern or even out of jealousy...in either case ..my surgery date is Wednesday and I know I will need to completely focus on posiive things which is why I chose only to tell my best friend and one of my children cause she still lives homes..I'm 42 yrs old and my whole life went to putting others first even to the point of my safety...NOW ITS MY TURN!!! And everyone else who is going through the same thing.. DO WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU..
  3. I'm having my surgery at Wareham surgical in mass
  4. It's okay grew up so dysfunctional this is normal to me...I have a lot of.wonderful friends... Unfortunately because of my up bringing and a bad marriage I have some trust issues.. So I tend to keep my personal matters to myself in fear of being judged.. But I have a great best friend..

  6. I only told my best friend.. my siblings would ridicule me even though some of them also need it..and all 7 of them are drug. And alchohol dependant.. my mother died of at age 50 of obesity and now I'm gonna be 42 on november 27th with 3 children and a 2.5 yr old grandson I want to live the rest of my life as healthy and fulfilling as possible. Unfortanely I only told my 16 yr old daughter that still lives home and not my other children don't want to risk them accidently slipping and telling my x husband or one of my siblings...can't pick family but you can limit the negative impact they have on you.. so sad sometimes
  7. Hope all works out well for the both of you... my surgery date is the 28th and I just started with a cough the is causing chest congestion, so I'm getting nervous if it don't go away they will postpone my surgery.. the best to you both

  10. We don't bank our blood...however there is an operation method that the blood goes through a circulatory machine..I'm just not sure if every hospital is equipped with it
  11. Jw's can accept some blood fractions..but as I said I told my surgeon from my Very first appointment I was a witness..he said of course he don't like the chances...but understood my reasoning it may be elective surgery..but being 42 @ 311pounds the risk of needing a transfusion is much less than me dying at such an early age...he understood never tried to change my belief..and can't wait till next Wednesday for my new life to begin
  12. I started my pre op... On September 10th my surgery date is November 28th
  13. This is a bit late But I am Jehovah witness and my surgeon had no problem they cannot refuse you because of your religious belief

  15. Hi everyone...I'm new here I have a question..I see a lot about liquid diets before surgery...my surgeon appointment was scheduled for Dec 3rd but i got a call today with the approval and scheduled surgery for November 28th..I see the surgeon on the 20th..is that enough time for a liquid diet..I'm hoping it isn't a mistake and he changes the date...
  16. Hi shemmy... it was a shock to get this date..since I just seen the nurse practioner yesterday and the approval was still pending and my next appointments wouldn't be until dec ..I feel like I'm in a dream my cw is 311.. I hope this surgery will help..where are you having yours done..also I like this site since I only told 1 close friend I don't have a lot of support ..kids don't even know..don't want my siblings to find out..that's a whole different story in itself.. wishing you well
