  1. Today is day five for me. I've had dizziness throughout the week, but felt extra dehydrated yesterday. I pushed my fluids and have only a little light headedness today. So push your fluids!!! I'm feeling more and more like myself, but the weirdest thing is my brain! It's so weird to not take big bites or big gulps or eat whatever I want. The pain is much better, and I'm planning to start purée stage today or tomorrow. I'm working on getting my energy up and starting my supplements. I've gotta get into a routine for work starting dec 23rd. Hang in there...work on fluids and broth first, then once you get fluids in, you can do other foods.
  2. 20lbs lost in a little less than 2 weeks!!! I started my preop diet dec 2nd at 297 lbs, surgery weight on dec 9th was 287 lbs, this morning...277!!!! Feeling better by the day, able to eat more of a variety of foods.... Working on getting in protein shakes and doing more around the house. Very happy with my results!
  3. Glad to help. One more tip: use a heat pack on your abdomen for gas pain.... It's heavenly. Rest up!
  4. Yeah gas has been hurtin a lot but I feel less and less bloated each day. Walk around to keep it moving through. Warm liquids will also help with the gas pain. I've been warming up broth and tea for that. Is stick to liquids if I were you. I've been doing clears and workin in a little protein shake daily. Next week will be mainly purée foods and protein shakes.
  5. Seems a little soon to be eating eggs and hot cereal. I was sleeved the 9th and can't do purée type foods until week two. And I'm glad bc I have a hard enough time staying hydrated. You doctor said It was ok to eat those things this soon? Just remember your tiny pouch is still healing
  6. Carlotta, I had my surgery Monday as well. I have had minimal nausea and have been able to keep everything down I've tried. Warm fluids are less painful, you might try that, but honestly if you aren't keeping ANYTHING down at this point, you should see your surgeon. Good luck hun
  7. Feeling a ton better today and not needing as much narcotics for pain. sleeping better too. Less gas this morning, and warm fluids still feel the best. Going to try crushing some Tylenol rather than taking the narcotics. Or maybe children's liquid Tylenol. Has anyone tried that? Does it work? Might try a little bit of Protein today and still push fluids. It's TOUGH to get fluids in! HW 297, SW 287, CW 282. Surgery date dec 9, 2013.
  8. Thanks VSG! I tried some Benadryl last night to supplement my pain meds. I slept really good after that! Spasms are better. Warm fluids help for sure. I'm feeling a ton better this morning. Less gas I think and now feel more just like super sore muscles. Like I did a million sit ups. I don't really feel like I need the narcotics, but would like some Tylenol to take the edge off. Anyone have any suggestions? I haven't found any adult liquid Tylenol, just children's. does that work for anyone? I could always just crush some into some protein shake or something. HW 297, SW 287, CW 282
  9. HW 297, SW 287, CW 285!! It's working! Down 12 lbs. ☺

  12. Warm broth feels really good on my tummy compared to colder liquids. Nap time!
  13. Well I got to come home last night and it was nice to sleep in my own bed. Still in a good amount of pain, especially when I sip on something. But I was able to take a shower today and that went well. My incisions look pretty good. Took the dressings off and just have Steri strips on each one now. Plan for today is to walk a bit and try to stay hydrated. TMI: my urine smells terrible! The nurses in the hospital doesn't seem to think it was a problem. Hope it doesn't turn into a UTI! I'm afraid of more pain and being dehydrated. Did anyone else have malodorous urine after? Could be from the anesthesia or meds?
  14. HW 297, SW 287. Just over 24 hours out and I'm up 5 ish lbs. look forward to see that scale drop.
  15. I was sleeved yesterday as well. Have been struggling more than I thought with pain, but as long as I stay up I my meds, I feel pretty good it was nice to see my fam and boyfriend when I woke up in my room also. I'm trying to sip a lot, but it's painful like an abdominal spasm when the liquid hits The pouch. Hoping pain gets a lot better soon.
  16. On my way home now! Upper GI test showed no leaks and as long as I stay up with my pain meds, I feel ok for the most part. Still pretty gassy. Lots if burping. Lol ready to be in my own bed.
  17. Had a decent night, but woke up in pretty sever pain. Meds are wonderful been sipping in water, Ice and broth. Still really hurst my belly... At least until after I burp lol have my upper GI test this morning and if all is well I may get to go home today. ready to start feeling better.
  18. I've been postop about 5 hours, and happy to report feeling pretty good! Sipping and just did my first walk. Felt good actually! my boyfriend is being so cute and taking care of me. I love him. I had some pretty gnarley pain in recovery but have gotten ahead of it with the liquid oral meds. I have an abdominal binder done and it works wonders for making me feel like my guts aren't falling out. Lol Anyway, So far, so good!
  19. Taking the plunge tomorrow morning! Checking in at 0800 for 1030 VSG....nervous and exciting. Glad the waiting is over, and I'm ready to work. Gaaarrr!

  21. Hello! I am having my surgery tomorrow (!!!) and I am 5'10". HW 297, surgeon says he thinks i can get down to 150. Doesn't sound doable to me, so I thought I'd see if there are any tall women out there who can share their success stories with me! I'm shooting for 175 and will go from there....I'd love to hear your stories!
  22. I'm 5'10" and am always looking for tall women to see their results. I'm having my surgery tomorrow (!!!) with HW 297. My surgeon says I'll be able to get to 150.... I can't even believe that! For now I am shooting for 175 or so. My lowest weight as an adult was 190, and I felt pretty good at that weight. It seems unbelievable to ever be close to 150. You look amazing and I look forward to following your results!
  23. I hear a little bit of hopefulness in your voice sounds like you're on your way to feeling better! Get em girl!
