  1. elyssa20 just wondering if you got your approval yet? My paper work was submitted yesterday.
  2. My paperwork was submitted to Cigna yesterday. Now, I am getting a little nervous. Hopefully it will be approved the 1st time and soon.
  3. You look great and give me hope when I get to the point I will have to do my plastics all at once or wait a year In between so I can you my summer for recouping (I am a teacher)
  4. I was going to use Dr. Alvarez but decided to try the insurance route 1st (and I will use him if I get denied). I was really impressed with the support staff. I had already had a date scheduled and paid my deposit. When I cancelled my deposit was refunded within 48 hours and were just as friendly and helpful and when they were taking my money. They have since contacted me just to check in. I know that this is just good customer service and they are following up on a potential client, but I have to admit that the entire staff made me feel like I was important and that they cared about my weight loss journey. (Which is more than I can say for the "center of excellence" staff that I am currently using. Who could care less about me but will charge my insurance almost 10x what Dr. Alvarez charges.
  5. I have been having a lot of pain in my right upper quadrant and numerous gallbladder related symptoms. I had an ultra sound that can back normal and a hida scan with CCK injection that showed that I had a 100% ejection rate. Normal gallbladder ejection fraction is between 35 percent and 75 percent. One of my doctors said that this was normal but my new PA thinks I should get my gallbladder removed, I haven't talked to my surgeon. I was just wondering if anyone else has/had an overactive gallbladder.
  6. not yet. My insurance coordinator is very picky. I have had to get several of my doctor's letters redone because something was written in correctly or left out. I had originally send a PA and she had be get actual Physician's signatures instead. hopefully, when she finally does submit my claim it will be approved the 1st time.
  7. The only seconds thoughts I am having is that I should have went to Mexico, instead of jumping thew all of the hoops that my insurance company requires. I made peace with my decision for WLS before starting this process. But I am really getting stressed out about the whole insurance process. I am happy for you that you have completed the insurance fiasco.
  8. Maybe it's just something simple that was left off the submission paper work, I am sure your appeal will be approved but I know it has got to be frustrating. I am so afraid that Cigna will also find some way to deny be.
  9. I have never had cancer but lost my 4-year old grandson to leukemia. Also my only son was killed when he was19, my older brother died is his sleep and my father died from a heart attack. This was all within a 2 year period. I used to swear that I had a target on my back, but after much therapy and a lot of time I am ready to start living my life again. I think that is why this surgery is so important for me. I have mentally started ready start live my life again, I have a job that I love and new husband that is very supportive but physically I can't enjoy life to the fullest. That is why this surgery is so important to me because I will have the opportunity to truly enjoy life again. You are a survivor and I wish you the best of luck.
  10. My insurance coordinator provided me a copy of my district's (I am teacher) insurance procedures for bariatric surgery, I then confirmed this information with my benefits department because I had a hard time believing that I wasn't required to participate in a 90 weight management program and when I called Cigna I keep getting different answers. So you might want to check with your husband's benefits department. I am still waiting for my PCP to get the paperwork to the surgeon but hopefully will get everything approved soon.
  11. I also have Cigna from a self-insured employer and do not have to complete a 90-day weight loss program but need 2 different letters of medical necessities. It all depends on what the company negotiated for in their coverage. 12. I'm totally agree with the 1st post. I originally had planned to go to Mexico! but my husband wanted me to at least try the insurance route 1st. Hopefully I will be approved soon if not I will be spending my Christmas break in TJ. If I had to do it over again I would had just went to Mexico in the 1st place and stayed myself a lot of frustration and time off work for pre-op visits.
  13. You look great. If someone can't tell the difference they need eye surgery.
  14. Congrats. I can't wait to join you on the approval side of this process. Hopefully with the next week or so.
  15. sure not show. I hate auto correct
  16. Just wondering if any of the Arizona Sleevers have Cigna ? If so have long did it take to get approved. I am hoping that I will be able to get my surgery before Thanksgiving but would prefer closer to Veterans day. Any suggestions on how I can speed up the progress!
  17. That would be nice if it would go that fast for me. But I have Cigna and think that they take a little longer for their approvals.
  18. I using dr Chen at the same practice. How efficient are the lady's in the office with getting the insurance approvals?
  19. Mel1976 who's your surgeon?
  20. Just found that I will also be having all 3 done at once. That's is provided my surgery is approved soon. Dr wants to remove gallbladder within a few weeks at the latest .
  21. Congrats! You're 32.8% of the way there!
  22. I found a new PCP today and she is going to write my letter of medical necessity and medical clearance. That's the last thing I need. Hopefully everything will be ready and submitting for insurance approval next week.
