  1. I was bloated for a week. Very very puffy. But I suppose between the gas and the beating up we got in surgery it doesn't surprise me. I'm looking forward to next week where I can eat a few more things like scrambled eggs, white fish and lentils. I need to chew something. Does anyone else weigh them selves everyday? I think I'm doing my head in and need to restrict myself to one or twice a week . Any advice? Thoughts? I'm getting a bit cross with myself because my weight hasn't shifted in to days and thin start thinking well maybe he didn't do it right? But then I go to eator drink and there definitely sent much space in there. I think I'm making myself crazy.
  2. I have to share this recipe. My dh made me pumpkin and blue cheese soup. It was amazing. Perfect texture and great flavor. He just softened pumpkin within garlic and onion. Then added 4 cups of chicken stock. And boiled. He drained the stick and puréed the veg with 6 slices of cooked crisp bacon. Added it to the stock He continued cooking and then melted 1/2 Cup of Gorgonzola cheese into it. It was amazeballs. I've been eating it for two days now! Try it. It really was wonderful!

  4. Iove to be apart of that group Feeling pretty good today. I'm managing to get in about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of broth down at meal times and I just sip minted water (water with fresh mint in it) during the day. I add egg to my broth to add protein and basically add benefiber to everything I eat and have been regular since coming out of hospital on Friday. At times I feel uncomfortable and that's my signal to stop. I also went for a 15 minute walk today. It's cold here in the mornings so it was beautiful. Not feeling hungry and it's pretty fantastic not craving sweets or chocolate or anything the only thing I can't wait to try again is tortillas with tomatillo salsa. Missing that. I'm so glad I did this. Not one moment of regret!!!
  5. Perfect. Thank you. My nut was talking 60g a day. But just trying to get fluids down so having lots of broth with added protein powder. Ill make a smoothly in the morning and add more protein to that too. Between benefiber and protein I want o make sure I get everything into me .
  6. Hi all. I'm 4 days out of my sleeve surgery and feeling good. Now I'm home how much Protein should I be trying to get into me each day? Should I be adding Protein powder to pretty much everything not meat based? Thanks Lu xx
  7. How are our Aussie girls doing this week?
  8. Hi!!! I'm in Perth too and getting sleeved August 6. I was wondering about flavorless Protein powder to add to foods after surgery especially in the liquid phase. How are you going after being sleeved? I'm just dying to munch on a beautiful piece of crusty Italian bread.
  9. Veg in a tomato chipotle sauce tonight. No fats oils or carbs. Everything on my no carb veg list and a Optifast Soup. I felt satisfied. Although a tortilla and guacamole would have been perfect sides too. Haha Not feeling too hungry. But with an increase of fibre, and vegetables I have. .... Um.... Hw does one put it....... Excessive gas! Sweet Lordy lord! I'm feeling pretty good. Lots and lots of Water. Good luck with day 3 x
  10. I made some grilled mushrooms and tomatoes to eat along with the soup which helped. I'm not really feeling hungry but not satisfied. I've got punnets of cherry tomatoes in the fridge to munch on. I think I'm just feeling withdrawal. No sugar no Gin no wine no bread no gin.
  11. 1 shake 1 bar 1 soup 7 meltdowns!!!!! I'm an emotional bag tonight. Everything and anything is making me cry. Cleaning mushrooms made me cry I am usually the most level headed person in the world and my poor husband is suffering the brunt of my mood. Please tell me it gets better. 13 more days of this I may need to hide in the cellar away from human interaction.
  12. This morning I had my husband take photos of me in my underwear. I start my pre op optifast tomorrow and I want to document all parts of my journey. It's interesting...... I know I'm big.... I know I'm overweight..... I dress amazingly....but under those clothes it ain't so pretty... I was kind of horrified... I look at myself I the mirror each day but photos really show you every little (and large) lump and bump! I was not impressed. It really brought to home and really confirmed why I am doing this surgery.
  13. I'm an August 6er as well. I'm in Australia and I can't wait to get this part of my life on track. I want to not on,y be a healthier version of myself. But I wZnt to unleash the skinny supermodel in me ( haha I like to think I'm 6ft tall and wear a size 0) I want to shop at normal stores. Have skinny sex and just be normal. I'm tired of being the funny fat girl that can poke fun at myself. I want to be the funny skinny girl. I want to be fit and healthy for my husband and hopefully be able to conceive a child after 8 years of suffering with unexplained infertility. I want to wear a Burberry bikini and short shorts. I will get there. I know I will. We will all be unleashing the amazingness in ourselves.
  14. Sick not sim leave. Damn iPad. HAha blame the technology not the user
  15. I'm a reading recovery teacher in Western Australia. I'm getting sleeved on August 6. I'm fairy lucky our sim leave gets accrued. And ice been work over 12 years so I have many many days. My principal is taking my two weeks recovery leave out of my sick leave so that I don't need to take by from my long service leave. How ave your schools handled your need for time off?
  16. Wonderful thank you. I'm planning on doing a lot of "food" homework in the next few weeks and start stocking up the pantry with high Protein foods. Thank you x
  17. I think ill have to check out her blog Thanks
  18. I'm looking in to buying some "essential" cook books to help me along especially during the first few months with puréed foods and high Protein meals. Any essentials out there?
  19. I was wondering if anyone has used a skin firming cream pre and post op to minimise the risk of excessive sagging skin. I know that a cream will not completely do that but perhaps there was one thing on the market that would help during this time. Any recommendations?
  20. Have any of you been told that it was important to keep up your fiber while on meal replacements? My dietician told me to take benefiber during this time as not to get constipated. I've found in the past when I've done the shake diets I tend to use the bathroom more. But that might be because I was eating a full main meal at night. What are some of your experiences?
  21. I've got two weeks on the per optifast diet. Not looking forward to it. I have a feeling that I may b a raving lunatic dying this time so I have warned everyone around me! I told my husband that he was only allowed to eat things I didn't like during this time. Hahaha
  22. Good luck with the surgery and recovery. I'm 23 days out and I'm so excited. All the best x
  23. I'm another one being sleeved in August. August 6th I go in and I'm so excited. I have my dietician appointment on Tuesday so I will be interested to see how long I'll need to do the Meal Replacement shakes for.
