Preop Protein Nausea
So, I finally bit the bullet and tried the shakes again. I tried the Syntrax Vanilla with soy milk and once again, nausea. I am wondering if I will just have to deal with it. If I drink each if them with 16 ounces of soy, I would be getting 37 each time, so 74 if I drank to. That would be pretty close to the 80 they want me to get, even if I were to be able to drink them all. I'll probably just have to grin it and bear it. I need to try the lactaid suggestion as well. Maybe I'll become used to it. I dealt with it back on medifast days so there's that too.

Personnal ? Loads
So then why post?

NSGs
I should add one to the list: enjoying a summer where I can not have to deal with being miserably hot all the time.

What do I say to my PCP?
I spoke to both my PCP and my closest friend who is an Internal Medicine physician (in a different city). Both were completely on board with it. And neither were surprised. We've been obese for a long time, it isn't shocking when it is brought up.

I've also heard that muscle milk might be a good alternative as well.

Preop Protein Nausea
It is coming up in about 6 weeks. I haven't brought myself to try more of it cause of the nausea but I am going to try mixing with soy milk, probably next weekend. Thanks for the advice on the lactose pills. I'll def give that a try too.

NSGs
I realized today that I'm exactly 6 weeks out from my surgery. Being as close as it is, it got me thinking about my NSGs. Here are a few: 1) Being able to sit more comfortably in planes. I don't usually have to ask for an extender, but I have to cram myself into the seat. 2) Walking by the big and tall sections in department stores! This might be the one I'm looking forward to the most. 3) Losing the roll of fat around my wiener. I can grab a handful of it on each side. Think B cup and that's how much is down there. 4) Getting off is damn CPAP. The cardiologist that diagnosed me a couple months ago said that he didn't think I would get off it with the sleeve because how narrow my airway was and the size of my neck but we shall see about that! 5) Gaining more confidence with the ladies. Every time I've lost a significant amount of weight, my confidence with the ladies goes way up. #s 3 & 4 might come in handy then 6) Running a 10k. I've done 5ks in the past (but not recently) and I'd like to be able to do a 10k. 7) improving my golf game I'm sure there are more, but that's what I've come up with so far. What NSGs did you fellas have?

Yep, she gets $20 also. Here are the terms of the referral program: http://www.bariatricchoice.com/terms-refer-a-friend-rewards.html The least she could do is offer to split whatever she gets.

Preop Protein Nausea
Thanks for the advice, everyone. So far everything I have taken has been with water. I will try them out with some soy milk (never did like drinking regular milk). I'll try some different brands. There's a pharmacy here in town that supposedly sells different brands' samples. If that doesn't work, I'll try some soy protein.

How much do you get each time we click that link? You should disclose that as well.- Preop Protein Nausea
I'm about 6 weeks out from surgery so I've been teeing out protein powders. So far, only tried Unjury and I get a little nausea with them. I've done medifast in the past and I used to get a little nausea with those shakes too. Is it possible whatever protein is in these doesn't sit well? I'm guessing it is whey protein, right?- Dallas, Texas Sleevers! !
I was there!- What should I expect with my endoscopy
Why are you having (and other folks had) and endoscopy? They found I had a hiatial hernia by doing an upper GI. Is an endoscopy a standard procedure?- Sleep apnea
I don't see why it would. I got diagnosed in this pre-op phase and the woman coordinated my surgery said it only makes it a stronger case. Throw another comorbidity as a reason to have the surgery.- GOODBYE 5x hello XL
Awesome. How much did you lose and how many months did it take?- Last time I checked, this was the "Man Room"
Seems like every thread in this forum has girls posting in it, yet virtually no men post in the Powder Room. Frankly, I like having a forum just for the fellas and I think more guys would participate it they didn't think girls would hijack threads.- I can't seem to get used to NOT drinking with my meals!
It's is one thing I've been confused on. I've read that doing so will cause you to be full and I've also read that it can cause dumping problems because it washes the food out of your stomach. So which one is true or are both true? I find I don't drink a lot before a meal anymore. Back when I was drinking sodas I'd go through a few diet cokes before and during a meal, partly with the help of a straw and partly because they tasted good. But now that I'm off carbonated beverages, I find I don't even really touch my water at a restaurant.- NSV nah just want to share Pics!
And several other threads. He's been posting these pictures all over the forums.- ANY1FRM CHICAGO?
Is this supposed to be in the Men's Forum?- Dallas, Texas Sleevers! !
I'm a Dallas soon-to-be sleever, hopefully next month. I'm using Dr. Kuhn as well after hearing nothing but great things about him. Are the Season's 52 meetings only for folks that have been through the procedure or are presleevers welcome to attend?- What if I die?
I worry about this a lot. My closest friend is a doctor and he said for my age (37) that I would be extremely low risk. He spent a lot of time looking up the numbers and he said a large percentage of the 1% (or whatever it is) that die are older people with a lot of other prevalent health issues. But even with that knowledge, I'm still going to be terrified until I wake up from the procedure, God willing that my insurance approves it. - would you like to get 20.00 of your vitamins read below
