  1. I too am eating some of my favorite things. Cheeseburger, check. Rib Eye steak, check. Mexican, check. Just leaves Chinese, that'll be this weekend. No real pre-op diet required here. Just a really strict liquid diet for the 24hrs prior to surgery. I am scheduled for this coming Monday. I don't see it as a food funeral either. For me it's sort of like the day I dropped my daughter off at college her freshman year. So long for now, while realizing that what is about to happen is a life changing event and things will never be the same. Onward and upward I say. Excited about personal growth opposed to physical growth. YAY!!!
  2. Glad to hear you do have positive support. Good luck Sleeve Sista. ????
  3. As far as family support goes, for me it has not all been positive either. But I understand the negative input comes from a place of concern for my well being. I know that the "Nonsupporters" care for and love me and are just worried about my well being, and maybe yours are as well. I am not trying to negate how you feel about the lack of support your getting but just offering another prospective. I am a very vocal person myself and have trouble holding back when it comes to verbalizing my thoughts and feeling for those I care for. So when it's my turn on the hot seat I am open to listening the opinions of those that are coming from a place of genuine care and concern for me. Although it has not changed my mind about going through with the procedure. I get where there coming from and respectfully afford them the right to be heard. I'm not suggesting you change your mind or not change your mind about going through with this but hopefully helping you to be at peace with it and with those who love and care about you.
  4. Good luck on your journey. I too am exited, scared and hopeful. My surgery date is June 24th. It seems that each day closer I get to that day the more nervous I become. Then I have to remind myself that this a major life changing event and that not being nervous would be a pretty big cause for concern. Logging on to the forum helps a lot. It seems to help bring my focus on the positive aspects of my journey.
  5. Met with the surgeon today and set a date. Assuming/hoping there will be no issues with insurance the next phase of my journey begins on June 24th. A am very exited, feeling very optimistic.
  6. Hi all, I'm new to VST. I am finding to to be quite informative and helpful. Thanks to all. I have not yet scheduled my surgery. I am meeting next week with the Surgeon. I am so exited. A little nervous but overall am looking forward to it.
