  1. Tomorrow is my date!!!! At 11:45 a.m. EST I will begin my new life. I'm excited but think my Support Sister are as excited as I am. I also have a male friend who is extremely excited. They are all praying and I appreciate that. I'm relaxing and as soon as carpet cleaners leave I'm going to get a mani/pedi.
  2. My surgery is scheduled for November 19. I started by pre-op diet November 12. It seems my diet is quite forgiving. Unlimited raw and steamed veggies, 3-4 protein shakes, unlimited SF popsicles, SF jello, broth, decaf coffee and tea, Crystal Light, water; no more than 6 of the following: 1 cup low-fat or skim milk, 1 cup V-8 or tomato juice (no V-8 Splash regular or diet), 1/2 cup plain oatmeal, plain grits, Cream if Wheat, Cream of Rice (can use cinnamon), 4 oz. sugar free pudding, 6 oz. light yogurt or light Greek yogurt (with no fruit pieces), 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce (any flavor). Last 2 days: no applesauce or veggies. Last day: water, crystal light, apple juice, white grape juice, white cranberry juice, broth (chicken, veggie, beef), Gatorade, SF jello, SF Popsicles, decaf coffee, decaf tea. Can use sweetener but no sugar. Pre-test November 12. Received a call the following day asking was I sure I'd never had a blood transfusion and was I sure I'd never been pregnant. WTW?? Haven't heard from them since. Super excited and grateful for my support circle! Packing bag over the weekend. YAY!
  3. You CAN do it! It's going to take work but you'll succeed.
  4. Be true to what you really feel. You've done an excellent job, just don't give up! I really don't know if I could've stayed on the liquid diet 5 weeks. You rock!!
  5. I also wondered was it a safety issue. He should've given her an explanation.
  6. Friday does he want to know whether you'll take the 11/19 surgery or the later date?
  7. Screaming "CONGRATULATIONS"!!!! You did it!
  8. Went to class this morning. I thought I was going to have to start pre-op diet tomorrow for 11/19 surgery. I start it 11/12 instead! Yay!!! Seven days instead of 14...Yessss
  9. My insurance approval took 5 days. I'd originally been told 2 weeks. They wouldn't even schedule me until the insurance approval.
  10. My friend was told that when the liver is too big if the method is laparoscopic, it causes more activity to be done in those small incisions. Which would lead to additional pain during recovery.
