  1. Sounds like she's jealous, I too was told this by my co worker " so I hear your taking the easy way out and cheating to loose weight." Now I still hadn't even told him I was getting it done (but figured word would get around it always dose) so I had to give him a quick lesson and some what brutal lesson in the sleeve, told him all the sacrifices I would be doing plus all the risk I would be taking and how it's more of a tool, so I ended with "if u could afford it I'm sure u would have it done too" Now I know i was brutal with my last comment but i work in construction if u don't dish it out they will eat you alive, my coworkers actually used to make fun of a guy that had to have a hernia repair done not for having a hernia but for getting it repaired
  2. I'm not sure about every one else but for me it was the price. I tried going thru my insurance but my employer specifically opted to not cover anything to do with weight loss so I started researching places I could get it done here in the good old US of A and well the least expensive place I found that didn't involve me being a test patient was Las Vegas for 10400 so then I started looking into mexico and found out that most doctors out their have been doing the sleeve longer then most US doctors OR where trained out her in the US so they are just as good as a US doctor and most I found are only 4500-6500 and that's usually an out the door price including 1 night b4 surgery in a hotel 2 night at the hospital after surgery and 2 nights after your hospital stay in a hotel of course u still have to add airfare Is it easier? Well it's the same process for both the Mexico place I'm getting it done at and the Las Vegas place. I guess as long as you show them the money you can get your sleeve, what I'm trying to say is you don't have to jump thru hoops and go to classes and what not just to see if your a candidate
  3. I'm a also going to be a march sleever, march 18 to be exact in TJ with Dr. Ortiz and Dr. Lopez can't hardly wait
  4. Count me for getting my sleeve march 18 with dr Ortiz and dr Lopez
  5. Been lucking around and finally got the courage to post my story and ask my questions So i finally decided to take control of my life I'm hopping this surgery all works out for me I've been on the yo yo diet since jr high at my most I was 5'5 330 lbs 1.5yrs ago but finally opened my eyes when I could not fit in the Disney rocket ride with my 1 yr old and I knew I had to do something about my weight or I would not be around for my family, that same week i was passed on a promotion at work and found out from co workers that our boss didnt think i would be able to "fit" in the sewers ( i work in sewer rehab construction ) as of today I'm 232lbs Ok so I have my surgery scheduled for 3/18 with Dr Ortiz and Dr Lopez, any way I have to go on a pre op diet of Protein Shake for Bfast small fruit for snack, Protein shake for lunch and for dinner chicken breast grilled, then 3 days b4 the 18th I need to do an all clear liquid diet along with a cleanseing. So my question is did you guys have a last hurrah and if so what did you have? I so want to have a last hurrah but I just don't know if I should since that's really what got me here in the first place. All comments are welcome, sorry if I'm posting in the wrong section
