Scared to death that I'll lose weight and get denied. I'm right at 35 BMI. Nut told me not to lose any weight. They can't submit to insurance until March.
The Nut told me I cannot lose any weight or I jeopardize getting approved. My bmi is exactly 35. If I drop just a few pounds I'll be below the BMI requirement. Anyone else facing this? I wasn't losing weight before I decided to get the sleeve. I dont want to put this off another minute than I have to. Any advice?
Congratulations and good luck. I don't have a surgery date yet but I think it will be in March. I was hoping for Feb but the Nutritionist told me I have to meet with him 3 consecutive months before my surgery. I'm surprised because the surgeon told me he could do my sleeve within a month.
Thanks Post Ops.....as a newbie who can barely call myself a Pre Op, I'm so disappointed in this thread. I hope this isn't the norm and thus is just a fluke. I just thought I'd take a peek at what you guys were talking about. So far I'm not impressed, just sad.
I'm 5' 6 and weigh 216.6 lbs bmi is exactly 35 w/1 co-morbidity so I qualified by the skin of my teeth. Hoping my insurance approves my surgery. I'm doing this to keep the weight off for good this time. I'm 45 years old and have lost and regained since my teens. I hope to get a March surgery date and pray I have no regrets.
Hi,
I just had my 1st consult with the surgeon today at 330pm. Scheduled PCP visit tomorrow, Nut sessions on 1/24 & 2/12, Labs, Upper GI, Chest Xray on 1/31, Support group meeting on 2/4, psych eval 2/12 and had my EKG and Echo results faxed to the surgeons office all before 5pm. Just need OB/GYN visit scheduled. Would have done that but his office was closed for the MLK holiday. I'm really hoping for a March surgery date.
