  1. Ua thats what im gonna have to do, call insurance. I dont know uf they would except photos...if they do then i got that. Im calling and old weight watchers i went to years ago and calling old insurance to see if they can tell me who my doc was in cali..like i mentioned, i rarely went to a doc so this may be hard. Lol
  2. So i found out today, no pre op diet required..yay right...i dont know cuz what they do want is a 5yr obesity history. I moved here (illinois) from cali in 2007, never really saw a doctor unless i was prego. In 2008 i was prego with my last child and saw my obgyn here and then finally started seeing a primary on a regular basis, but obviously not 5yrs. Im worried about having a 5yr history. Any ideas or anyone who has had this issue that might be able to give advice, please do so!!! Thanks in advance!!
  3. I have uhc but im 5'6 and almost 250lbs. My bmi is high enough that i dont have comorbidities my plan also doesnt require a pre op supervised diet. But what it does require is a 5yr history of obesity. Im worried about this because i have not had a doctor for 5yrs...i moved here to illinois from cali in 2007 and i rarely went to a doctor. In 2008 i was prego and saw my obgyn and ive been keeping up with my primary since then. Im pretty sure any doc i saw in cali doesnt have my files anymore anyway...sooooo worried its gonna hold me back!!! Good luck with yours though! Im sure we will get it all figured out!
  4. I guess what they require is the 5yr obesity history. That may be a problem since i have not been with my doctor for 5yrs, and the only other doctor i saw was my obgyn. my doc from 2007 probably wont even have my files anymore..if i can remember who that was!

  9. Seminar went great! I still want the sleeve, didnt change my mind. Made my appointment with the nurse. One question i wish i would have asked ( but im calling insurance tomorrow) is that my insurance pays 100% of labs for wls, but how can they pay if paper work isnt sent to them for all this intill everything is done? Do i pay and they reimburse? Idk but im going for this full speed ahead!!!
  10. Now thats what im hoping for!! Congrats!! And good luck!!

Im figuring it taking about 6mo, but the lady at the surgeons office said from day if seminar to day of surgery is only about 2-3mo...i hope!! Congrats on your date, i bet youre soooo excited, everytime i hear someone on here say they were approved, i get excited for them cuz i know how im gonna feel when/if i get approved!!

  17. Nice to know! I was worried they would be real picky and stick to their rules since theyre paying. Ive gained just from sitting at home with my 3yr old. I wish they would just send me my seminar info so i can get this going!!!
  18. Thanks alot! I think ive gained alittle anyway since december..ugh but im sure the surgeons office will weigh me before paper work gets sent to insurance.
  19. My primary said my bmi is 40. I used and online bmi calculater and it said 39.5. Does that make a huge difference with surgeons and insurance? Im 5'5-5'6 and last weight in dec was 245lbs. No comorbidities either. Please give ur opinion or simular experience!!!
  20. My sons friend had the band done by Dr. Eagon. He refered me, im in the process of trying to get the sleeve. My sons friend has lost over 100lbs! Said his experiencs was great and he loved Dr.Eagon! He works out of Washington University.
