  1. Hi there, pre-op'ers!!! I would love some accountability partners in the pre-op journey... Find me on MFP at Michelevincent11@gmail.com ... Thanks!!!
  2. I love Dandy Blend, a non caffeinated herbal drink that tastes like coffee. I've used it with both my pregnancies and even now, after as I'm transitioning to the pre-op diet. I buy it in bulk at Amazon.com
  3. Awesome!! Lets share some stats... 5"3' SW- 235 Goal- 125 Age 36 Dr. Almanza Jerusalem Hospital April 11 I'm ready to rock this sleeve!! I can't think about anything without wondering "what will this (insert activity or meal) be like after 4/11?" I'm doing Turbofire and Chalean Extreme twice a week (trying for three times a week) and walking one mile a day with my kids/dog. I'm going to do a two week Meal Replacement + lean green Snacks and then 2 weeks of high Protein liquid diet as my pre-op. I start that Feb 27! I'm looking forward to sharing this journey and using this tool- it's not easy but it is simple!!
  4. So... I'm about 12 weeks out on my surgery date and contracting two weeks of liquid diet starting Feb 28. What are your pre-op plans??
  5. I live in Sac but come to SF often... I'd love to meet up and do a little shopping! Do you still have some semi professional and some fun stuff? I'm a 16/18 and being sleeved on 4/11. Thanks!!
  6. I don't know how many pieces you have, but I really need an infusion of plain colored tops, prefer 3/4 or long sleeves and work appropriate pants. I'm being sleeves 4/11, so I could pass them along when I'm done too. What could you sell for $100?
  7. Lol... Me neither! I have decided to do this and I'm confident with my choice to go to Mexico. Kaiser says they will do it, but I have to go thru their hoops... 6 months to 1 year. No thanks. I want to be well on my way by this time next year...
  8. i went to the first steps seminar with my insurance this morning. I have Kaiser, and I went in Sacramento. I feel like the presenter was really judemental about being overweight and there were a lot of "trigger words" used in the presentation. On the whole, most of the attendees were middleaged women with about 100-150 lbs to loose, a few with more or less and just a handful of men. Two people dominated the conversation with stupid questions about THEIR specific health concerns, of course the presenter told us that this wasnt the forum at the begining... I feel like this is a screening out tool used by Kaiser to prevent people from taking the next step!! I am going to attend the "Meeting with the Surgeon" however I feel like Kaiser takes too long. Honeslty the 5-8K it costs in Mexico might be worth my time and energy dealing with the health care system. I was told that my BMI is LOW by my reffering doctor, because its is 40 and I had a baby in the last year, even though the criteria state your highest BMI within the last 12 months... I dont have any co-morbidities (yet) but I feel like Mexico maybe the best use of my time and energy. Am I making excuses? I could probably TEACH the weight loss classes and nutritional programing seminar I have attended at Kaiser. The calibur of educator is alright, but I am so uncomfortable in the group setting, i shut down. UGH... I am debating the money vs. quality of my life over the next year. Any advice from those before me? Thanks in advance...
  9. I can tell you FEEL so much better! Beautiful!!
  10. I'm considering a sleeve when my second and last baby will be 6 months old. Does anyone have words of wisdom about nursing after being sleeved? I believe my baby will be on soft foods at 6 months and this would be an ideal time for me to do something positive for myself. I'd like to continue to nurse at least twice a day at 6 months. Do you think it's possible? Thanks!!!
  11. Amazing!! Good work girl!
  12. Queen of crop- where can I read your blog? Thanks!!
  13. I'm the first poster in this month, but hoping to meet others who are getting VGS in April 2013! I had a baby on Sept 19th, nursing up until the surgery, that's why it's planned do far in advance. I have been heavy since I was about 8 years old and I'm tired of my self image stopping me from being the person I am on the inside. I have lost weight before using liquid only diet, but I feel that style of wl really makes it difficult to maintain. I'm ready to use the VGS as a tool I can maintain once I'm at goal. I'm 5"4' and currently 230lbs. My heaviest weight was 251. I've been doing TurboFire and walking, but just not loosing weight, even with journaling my food. It's crazy and it's time to get some surgical help! Looking forward to meeting my April 13 Sleevers!
