  1. I'm 5'6" and 260, wearing a size 24. Want to lose 100 lbs.
  2. I will be having my sleeve surgery done the 3rd or 4th week of May and am standing up in my sister's wedding on October 12th. I have to order my dress for the wedding today and they told me that I could only alter it about 2 sizes down before it loses its shape. So, my question is, how much weight did you lose in about 4 months and appx. how many dress sizes was it for you? I know everyone loses weight differently, however, I'm trying to make an educated guess on how to order this dress. I've been told to order it a size or two down by some people and then have some more room for alterations if I lose more and then there's my mother in law who said she only lost 1 dress size after losing 80 lbs after her bypass! Any advice you can give is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  3. Hi everyone- I'm new to this whole journey and have been browsing this site for a couple weeks now. I went to my first seminar last night and plan on going to one more to make sure I make an informed decision that I'm comfortable with. My insurance requires me to have 6 months of consecutive visits to my primary care doctor in order to qualify for the surgery. I've had 2 months of visits so far, only 4 more to go. I would like to lose about 100-125 lbs and see this as good opportunity at this point in my life. I'm 36 years old and I don't really have any health issues other than being grossly overweight (BMI of over 40). I'd like to try this before I get to the point where I have a lot of health issues and am hoping to gain a handle of my life and on my eating issues. I have 2 small children (ages 2 and 4) and am nervous about the surgery as well as how my life will change after the surgery. I'm excited about the possibilities but also very nervous how I'll manage this with 2 small children around. Just wanted to introduce myself and let you know that I'll be around and checking in throughout this next phase of my life!
