I have Anthem BCBS PPO, which doesn't require a referral. However your sister should first check her company's WLS requirements if she meets them she can schedule her on appt. with a suregon. PS - My company didn't require the six month supervised diet which is why she wants to reach out BCBS and inquire if her company cover WLS if so what are the guidelines does she have to meet. Congrats, on your approval. I was smiling from ear to ear when I got my APPROVAL call from the surgeon. They wanted to schedule pre-op & surgery all w/in the same call. Good luck on your next steps keep us posted

OMG, I can relate to exactly what you are talking about. I have had three C-sections. I experienced the numbness at the lower bottom of my tummy for years before it felt normal again. I haven't had my VSG surgery yet, but thanks for the heads up.

Congrats, I was also approved within a day as well. I got my call from the surgeron office on Friday my pre-op has been schedule for 2/28 and surgery 3/13. Do you have a date yet?

I was surprised in a way but not really, Anthem BCBS denied me in two days the first time. I just anticipated at least weeks, I'm so excited I was approved and will not have to go to Mexico. Good Luck to all who are still waiting on approval

No date yet when the call came in from the doctors office I was ok here we go again, then she said your APPROVED then she immediately ask to schedule both my pre-op and surgery date. I need a moment to get myself together (scream,cry, and the happy dance). I getting ready to call them back I will keep you posted.
