  1. Same here- sleeved on 10/23- getting required fluids/protein but seem to never be full. Though I'm not hungry either. I was just sitting here thinking the same thing- am I going to feel full with regular food? Sounds like it from the other posts so that's a relief!
  2. Hi all- just got sleeved on the 23rd. Also had a hiatal hernia repaired Doing great, surgery was about what I expected- some pain like bad period cramps but a little deeper. Pain about a 4 to 5 out of 10 after surgery and about a 1 now- I think the hernia pain is a little worse than the sleeve pain. The worst part was the dry mouth for me- I really didn't have any gas pains except when I drink too fast or too much- then I hear gurgling. I'm getting all my protein and fluids in though it takes a while to drink!
  3. Hi all- just got sleeved yesterday the 23rd. Also had a hiatal hernia repaired as well. Doing great, surgery was about what I expected- some pain like bad period cramps but a little deeper. Pain about a 4 to 5 out of 10 after surgery and about a 2/3 now 1 day later. The worst part was the dry mouth for me- though I really didn't have any gas pains. For those who are afraid or stressed about it, don't be. Just expect SOME pain, but it's really not anything that bad. Leak test came back fine as well! Good luck to all the test of the October sleevers!
  4. I'm getting sleeved at 745am tomorrow! Wish me luck and prayers! A little nervous, but nothing major. I pray all goes smoothly! I'm in ohio getting sleeved with Dr Aviv Ben Meir who I have total confidence in! Good luck to the others scheduled this month!
  5. Lol yes!!! Sorry about that I was half asleep and thought your name said Mark! Lol
  6. Thanks- good luck to you as well sleeve brother (maybe) lol
  7. So happy to hear you are doing good! I think it's more of a personal choice with who you end up with doing your surgery. How much have you lost so far? Even though you can eat anything, are you finding that the sleeve is helping you control that?
  8. I'm having my sleeve done by Ben Meir on 10/14! Glad I also found him. He to me Hassan only did 11 surgeries last year!!!
  9. Yay! You will be getting done before me- keep me posted on how your doing! Ben- Meir said that the new hospital was supposed to advertise him moving to Lake Health the week after he left St Vincent's but for some reason they were late in doing it. St Vincent's wouldn't have told us if they did know because they didn't want to lose the patients. I guess a lot of patients are moving over to Lake from Vincent's now. I'm just happy I found him!
  10. I didn't have the same experience, though I was able to find Dr Ben- Meir at Lake health ( lake west and Tripoint hospitals). I actually went through to the end at st Vincent's and had my surgery date if 08/12 when I found him and decided to switch. My new date is 10/14 and I'm so happy to have found him- he had great stats- over 4000 surgeries and never a leak! He left at the end of may and Lake Health was late in getting out his info on the Internet. He wouldn't have been able to take any patient info with him and they were not able to tell us where he went! Hope things are going well for you at CC. Did you get a date yet?
  11. Monday August 12th here- just found out 30 min ago! I have a mix of emotions- I know I'm doing the right thing for me- just scared of surgery since it will be my first!
  12. Hey there! I just had my consult at st Vincent's this past Friday! Loved! Meeting dr Ben - Meir! He seems to be a VERY competent surgeon and his stats are awesome! I just started my 3 month diet so my surgery won't be for a few months yet but after my Consult I'm so glad I choose st Vincent's. thank you for your input on them! How are you doing after your surgey?
  13. Thanks everyone for your input! Hopefully on e I get sleeved it will be a little easier to deal with because I won't physically be able to stuff myself. Truth be told, the mere act of losing weight may be enough to help me avoid being so stressed!
  14. Hi everyone I'm still pre op But noticed that I am an emotional/ stress eater. For those of you that have gone through surgery already what did you do to handle how did you handle your stress eating and your emotional eating?
  15. Thanks! I have my first appt with the surgeon on 3/8! How are you feeling?
  16. Thanks everyone! I think I'm kinda like sassygirl was- I think about food way to much! It will be nice not to obsess about it!
  17. Yes, I am definitely a quantity eater- that will have to change to quality
  18. Thank you! I'm thinking along the same lines, but just wanted some confirmation!
  19. Hi everyone- I have my first consultation appointment in a month and I had a question for all of the post sleevers; I am one of those people who eat when something looks good even if I'm not really hungry. I also tend to eat until I'm stuffed. Of course I love my fast food too. Will getting sleeved help me to lose weight and curb my eating? Obviously no fast food, but I'm thinking that the restriction won't enable me to eat until I'm stuffed.
