  1. Hey Delta, I have one area near my main incision that is still a little swollen and sore. They told me I had a hematomia (sp?) basically bleeding in the muscle tissue. It's not non common and should take a few more weeks than the other bruising to heal. they just told me to keep an eye on it and if it become a lot more tender or hot to the touch then come back in.
  2. sprinkles, yes married, no my wife is not sleeved. The unjury is great. The most important thing if you haven't figured it out yet, when heating the water and adding protein don't get it over 130 degrees. It took a few experiments, but 1min and 7 seconds in my microwave and water is at 130. if it's too hot then it clumps up and is nasty. Need, as far as protein like I told sprinkles the unjury cheese sauce or the chocolate is good. Once you are on puree then I have been eating a lot of tuna or chicken salad, pureed meatballs with red sauce, they told me anything i could get into a blender and didn't have clumps or chunks. Skyline chili is good to go as is, with no beans or pasta though. Good Luck
  3. Just had my 1 week checkup..The middle of the stomach incession developed a hemotomma (SP?) basically a little bleeding under the skin the muscle. They said it was doing well and should go away and be fine. I tried my unjury cheese sauce on a smashed up baked potato. WOW..if you haven't tried it please do..good luck and lynn b patient and it will all work out. Dr. Curry is abosolutely wonderful
  4. Sprinkles, Sorry to tell you but I am not a Chica. I am doing well though. I have my 1 week check up tomorrow. Hopefully onto puree I can't stand this liquid diet. My middle of the stomach inscension is the only that is really bothering me it is still sore to the touch.
  5. Hello all, Sorry it has been awhile, but I am doing great up til today. Can't get far from the bathroom, maybe the smoothie I had. maybe too much dairy.
  6. Yes Need me too. Surgery at 8ish and release about 3. First night and following day pretty sore, but pain meds took most of that away. Have not had a BM yet, gas yes. still struggling to get enough protein and water in.
  7. i am schedule for 6am arrival for a 7ish surgery...getting anxious.
  8. Need yes monday is it. I am doing well on the pre-op. I have lost 21 so far. I have cheated a little to..a bite here or there, but mostly high protein low carb. I did have a craving for pizza tonight since I ordered some for my son. So I took a bite chewed it up and spit it out. It was amazing, craving gone, just the taste curbed it. Good luck to all. Sprinkles great to hear that you are doing well.
  9. Hey it did work. Last time I tried that it didn't work. Probably operator error. Thanks again
  10. ok..I will try that. thanks
  11. September 24th is right around the corner getting a little anixious right. I am doing OK on the pre-op diet, a few little bumps and slips, but got right back on. I do miss eating real food. I have lost 19 lbs since the start, but I can't figure out how to get my ticker to move.
  12. lynn and need a sleeve, Yes I am going to Dr. Curry. I am on day 3 of my pre-op diet. I get sleeved on 9/24. I don't mind the eggs. I put a little spray butter on them, the chocolate chip pancakes are ok. the chx noodle, chx and rice and beef and pasta soups are ok, but real bland. the carmel nut and carmel rice bars are ok, really surprised how small they are and u are only allowed 1 bar per day. The first night was the worst. I went cold turkey from caffeine and had a MASSIVE headache. other than that going well, jest getting use to eating so often is a different, but all part of the lifestyle change.
  13. I am getting sleeved on 9/24 and just went thru my NUT. The nurse told us no Asprin based meds (advil, alleve, mortin, asprin) due to blood thinning affects for 4 months. Also no caffeine for 4-6 months due the dietric effect. Tylenol is OK, but probably should crush it she said until your are on reg food
  14. Pinky i am in day 2 of pre-op. i messed up and went cold turkey off caffeine. WOW what a headache. Better this morning. Have felt a little hungry, but then i realize it's time to eat again. That's going to take getting use to, eating a little bit more often.

  16. Alta, that sounds great. I am glad you are doing well. Keep us all posted.
  17. I start my 2 week pre-op today after my NUT appointment. A little nervous about it.
  18. Pinky, GREAT NEWS!!!
  19. Best of Luck to you and the baby.
  20. Happy Birthday and good luck
  21. Sally, great job. keep up the good work. Lynn, happy to have you in the group. Health is the most important part of all this so we can enjoy life to the fullest and longest possible.
  22. keldolbeth, thanks for the advise. Kadie sounds great we will be going thru it all at the same time. Good luck
  23. zebrasprinkles, Like I said in posting before. I think of it as standing in line to get on a roller coaster you have never been on. You know it's going to be great but the anticipation and fear gets worse the closer you get. Afterwards you kinda laugh at yourself about being so silly. YOu only have a few more days for a lifetime of feeling and looking better. YOu can do this, you are not alone. Buckle down and stay the course everything will be fine.
  24. congrats on the new sleevers. I will be joining you guys on Sept 24th. Monday 9/10 starts the pre-op diet. Kinda like waiting to go on the big roller coaster for the first time. Excited and anxious at the same time.
  25. Yes he is very good, but it's not just him. In my opinion it's the whole set up that I like. The surgery center and everything is right there in one place. Kinda of a one stop shop. My surgery date is Sept. 24. When I met with him I was on the fence leaning more to the sleeve and he was the one that actually recommended the sleeve. They do have financing avail thru three or four different companies. Another thing I like is fact you can do the seminars and most ofthe paperwork on line.
